Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 141

Betrayal At The Altar By Dolores Delia Chapter 141

When Louis heard his words, a trace of disdain flashed across his eyes. “Rachel has no relatives.”

How could it be related to the Johnson family? How could it be the newly appointed CEO of the Johnson Corporation?

This was simply nonsense!

The assistant also knew that his guess was a little ridiculous.

After all, Louis had sent him to personally investigate Rachel’s background.

Given her background, she was indeed unworthy of being related to the Johnson family, let alone becoming the female CEO of the Johnson Corporation.

Louis said calmly, “It’s just a coincidence.”

When the assistant heard this, he did not dare to continue making wild guesses.

The next second, he heard Louis say, “Go talk to the security guard at the door later. Ask him to find out what position Rachel Grey currently holds in the Johnson Corporation.”

Now, CEO Grey of the Johnson Corporation had turned them away and refused to see them, let alone talk about a collaboration.

If he wanted to see Ms. Grey, he could only work on Rachel.

However, they had just parted on bad terms. He was not sure if Rachel would agree to his request.

Louis frowned. Based on his understanding of Rachel, this woman would definitely not help him.

After thinking for a moment, he took out his phone and called Old Mr. Smith.

After he briefly explained the situation, he said earnestly, “Grandpa, you also know that cooperating with the Johnson Corporation means a lot to Smith Group. If I wasn’t desperate, I wouldn’t have asked you to come forward.”

Old Mr. Smith pondered for a moment. “I’ll think of a way to contact her, but I can’t guarantee that she’ll help you.”

After hanging up the phone, Old Mr. Smith hesitated again and again before calling Rachel.

“The Smith family doesn’t have any connection with me, so my appearance won’t affect the Smith family in any way.” Rachel paused for a moment, and her lips curled into an ironic smile. “I don’t think any of them would want me to appear there.”

When Old Mr. Smith heard this, he fell into a short silence. “Rae-Rae, I don’t have the right to beg you to forgive them. After all, they were the ones who let you down first. However, in life, you should be looking forward. Why take the past to heart? Get over the past, and everything will develop in a good direction.”

“Am I developing in a good direction, or is the Smith family developing in a good direction?” Rachel’s cold voice came through the phone, revealing an unreasonable coldness.

On the other end of the phone, Old Mr. Smith was speechless.

“I can promise you that I won’t go against the Smith family’s people. I’m also willing to leave the Smith family some dignity. However, I hope that you guys won’t provoke me again.” Rachel said coldly, “I still have something on. I’ll hang up now.”

With that, she hung up.

However, after a while, her phone rang again. After she declined, it rang again.

There was a trace of impatience and frustration between her eyebrows as she picked up the phone.

However, it was not Old Mr. Smith’s voice that came from the phone.
