Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 224

Chapter 224 Trouble

“Louis, it’s not easy for us, the Smith family, to rise from the ashes, so I hope you can consider the big picture,” Old Mr. Smith said. “The Cruise family is a warning to us, and we should choose carefully. I believe you know what to do.”

He knew how proud and conceited a person Louis was.

Upon hearing her words, Louis smirked coldly. “Mom, isn’t it too late for you to realize it now?”

Hearing this, Mrs. Smith’s pupils dilated. She froze on the spot as if she had been struck by lightning.

Even though Louis was angry, he had no choice but to compromise in front of his mother. He took a deep breath and said expressionlessly, “I’ll think of a way to resolve this matter. If you really want to help, keep an eye on Jane!”

Mrs. Smith watched as Louis left. Her eyes were filled with panic and complicated emotions.

The online public opinion about Rachel had caused some discussion, to the point where employees in the company were talking about it in the restroom.

“Could the person in the photo really be Ms. Grey?”

“Previously, didn’t Mr. Johnson say that Ms. Grey had been studying overseas all these years? Could it be true?”

“That’s such a scandal. As parents, they gotta do some damage control
