Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 245

Chapter 245 Incompetent

Tom and Adrian, who were kneeling on the ground, were so frightened that they did not dare to say a word.

Rachel said, “Grandpa, I was the one who asked them to hide this from you. If you have to punish someone, punish me.”

As she spoke, she handed the board to the old man, indicating for him to hit her.

“Nonsense!” Old Mr. Johnson’s expression darkened. He felt that the board in front of him was bad luck and threw it out without thinking.

Rachel squatted down and obediently laid on the old man’s lap. “Grandpa, don’t be angry anymore.”

“But you’re a girl. How can you be slandered so badly!”

There was a hint of anger in Old Mr. Johnson’s words.

Hearing this, Rachel’s pupils trembled slightly, and a warm feeling surged into her heart.

This inexplicable feeling of being trusted by her family instantly made her feel as if she had an entire army backing her. It was as if she suddenly had the courage to go against the world.

There was a faint smile in her eyes. While touched, she did not forget to help. her two uncles. “Grandpa, you know that I’ve never cared about these things. Moreover, Tom and Adrian have always protected me in their way.”

“Rae–Rae, you don’t have to speak up for the two of them!” Old Mr. Johnson did not appreciate her kindness. He glared at the two people kneeling on the ground and said, “And you call yourselves her uncle! You made Rae–Rae suffer for no reason! You can’t do anything right!”

Tom, the incompetent politician, was speechless.

As was Adrian, the incompetent elite lawyer.

Although they felt indignant, the two of them knew very well that they were responsible for the indignance faced by the Johnson family’s precious offspring.

They had wanted to kill the people from the Smith family when they saw those obscene words and unsightly photos.

At this moment, Old Mr. Johnson glanced at the two people kneeling on the ground. His eyes were filled with disdain. “Hurry up and go. I’m annoyed just by looking at you!”

The two of them looked at each other, stood up from the ground, and turned to leave the study.

Rachel spent the night at the Johnson family’s residence. It was rare for her to sleep until she woke up naturally.

After washing up, she put on her clothes and went downstairs to eat.

When it was almost noon, Mary called. “Let’s go out and have fun tonight! It’s been a long time since we drank and clubbed together!”
