Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 441

Chapter 441

Rachel never doubted the love that her grandfather and the Johnson family had

for her.

But this time, her grandfather and her uncle’s attitude made her suspicious.

Why were they so against her marriage?

“Grandfather, if you don’t want to tell me, you don’t have to find a random reason to brush me off. I can wait.” Rachel put the peeled apple on the table and casually took a tissue to slowly wipe her fingertips. “When you are ready to tell me, I’ll think about if I should call off the marriage.”

With that, she threw the tissue into the trash can and left.

Tom couldn’t help but frown as he watched Rachel leave.

This niece of his had had her own ideas since she was young. Although she was usually obedient and sensible, once she decided on something, she would stick to it no matter what.

Since she said that she would only consider calling off the marriage when she knew the reason, she would definitely not propose to call it off so easily.

After leaving the ward, Rachel received a call from Lucas.

He asked a few questions about Old Mr. Johnson’s health. Then, Rachel took the initiative to talk about the engagement.

“When you put it that way, Grandpa and my father’s attitudes are indeed a little strange,” Lucas said, “But then again, your engagement came out of nowhere. It’s reasonable for them to persuade you to break off the engagement.”

Rachel pressed the elevator button calmly. “But the problem is that they’re obviously hiding something from me.”

They insisted that she break off the marriage, but would not tell her the origin of the engagement.

Why, exactly?

“You mean there’s a story behind this marriage?” Lucas asked in confusion.
