Betrayal At The Altar
Chapter 579
When Olivia left Winnie’s studio, she wanted to go shopping with Louis.
However, Louis refused on the grounds that something had happened to the company.
“Since you are busy, I won’t disturb you anymore.” Olivia pretended to be considerate and said, “However, you still have to make time to accompany me to the charity banquet tonight. Otherwise, if others see me alone, I don’t know what gossip will arise.”
“Got it.” Louis grabbed her hand and turned to leave,
After he left, Olivia’s face suddenly darkened. She took out her phone and called Louis’s assistant. “Has Louis been socializing recently?”
“Well, recently, Mr. Smith went straight back home after he got off work,” the assistant said.
When Olivia heard this, her slightly furrowed brows relaxed slightly. “Keep an eye on him for me. You’ll get a lot of benefits.”
The assistant knew well what was best for him and said respectfully, “Yes, Madam.”
After hanging up, Olivia planned to get into the car and leave.
A car horn suddenly sounded behind her.
She turned around and saw the car window slowly roll down, revealing Marina’s beautiful face. “Marina?” Olivia’s eyes flashed with surprise as she quickly walked forward. “Why are you here?”
“I had some business up here,” Marina said. “Get in the car.”
Olivia nodded. “Okay.”
In the car, Olivia saw an invitation letter beside Marina’s hand. “Are you attending the charity banquet tonight too?”
Marina raised her eyes and glanced at Olivia indifferently. “Why? Are you attending tonight?”
“That’s right.” Olivia said, “There was quite a commotion a few days ago. I have to think of a way to salvage the situation.”
The charity banquet this time was different from the previous ones.
Every guest participating in it had to provide an item for the auction. It could also be the jewelry they were wearing. The money raised in the auction would be handed over to a charity organization for charity activities.
With such a rule, everyone would think of ways to show off.
After all, those who could participate were all from famous and influential families in Seaxas. Everybody wanted to be superior to others.
In order to motivate everyone, the organizer had specially set up an auction.
The top five would have the right to bid for tonight’s heavyweight item.
It had to be known that everyone at this banquet was worth a lot of money, but the organizer had only given them five places, which was enough to make the guests present fight for it.
In particular, the organizers had long prepared a blurred photo of the heavyweight item. It was as if they had put a mysterious veil on it, which greatly piqued people’s curiosity.
“Well, in that case, I’m suddenly a little interested in it.” Marina propped her forehead with her fingertips, and a shrewd light flickered in the depths of her beautiful eyes.
Of course, she was not here for the last item. She wanted everyone to see how much money she had!
“Are you free later?” Marina looked at Olivia. “Come and help me choose a gown to wear tonight, okay?”
Olivia smiled. “Of course.”
In Times Square.
Rachel had accompanied Mary for a day, but Mary had yet to find a suitable gown.
“This is the sixth shop. Don’t tell me you don’t like any of them?” Rachel looked at Mary helplessly.
Mary shook her head. “It’s all your fault for making me picky.”
“I think it’s because you’re too hard to please.” Rachel said, “There’s a new shop down the way. Do you want to take a look?”
