Betrayal At The Altar

Chapter 597

However, just as Cindy took a step, Mary blocked her way in a flash.

Mary crossed her arms. She was half a head taller than Cindy in her high heels. Mary lowered her eyes and looked at Cindy. “Miss Tory, don’t be in a hurry to leave. Our matter isn’t over yet.”

Cindy had caused such a huge commotion, but now she wanted to leave.

Mary wasn’t going to make it easy for her.

“Let’s see. Who said that Rae-Rae was pretending to be the mysterious designer Queen?” Mary raised her eyes and swept her calm gaze across everyone’s faces. Mary’s voice was filled with coldness as she said firmly. “Listen up. Rachel is the designer of the Raimant Collection, and she is the mysterious designer Queen that you all are talking about!”

This simple sentence was like a resounding slap to everyone’s faces.

Everyone’s faces turned red, and they could not say a word.

“Weren’t you all talking and laughing just now? Why are you all mute now?”

The man’s deep and cold voice was filled with coldness. It was like a cold winter wind that pierced the bones.

The moment the man spoke, the atmosphere in the hall suddenly turned cold and heavy, making people feel like they were in an ice cave.

In an instant, everyone was silent like cicadas in winter. They secretly sized up the expression on Rachel’s face.

Rachel’s face was expressionless, and her eyes were indifferent. Rachel casually moved the bracelet on her wrist with her fingers.

Rachel’s nonchalant attitude made it seem as if this smokeless dispute had nothing to do with her.

“It’s reasonable to be jealous because she’s beautiful, but is it so difficult to admit that she’s outstanding?” Zion had one hand in his pocket as he walked over step by step. “Earlier, all of you wanted to drown this weak and innocent girl with your spit. Now, you don’t even apologize. How can you call yourselves noble? If word gets out, how can you maintain your dignity in the future?”

Everyone present was smart enough to hear the threat in Zion’s words.

To put it bluntly, they had to apologize obediently for what had happened today. Otherwise, the news would be spread. No one knew what would happen by then.

Hearing this, everyone immediately panicked.

A potbellied middle-aged man in the crowd was the first to speak. “Miss Grey, I’m sorry. It was my fault just now. I wronged you for nothing. I apologize to you. I’m sorry!”

Hearing this, the others began to apologize.

Rachel’s expression did not change. Instead, she looked up at Cindy, who was standing not far away. “Miss Tory?”

Cindy’s back stiffened, but she didn’t turn around. Cindy just clenched her fists tightly.

Cindy believed that other than being less good-looking than Rachel, she could easily crush Rachel in other aspects.

Rachel was from a humble background. She was just lucky to be favored by Mr. Jones. When Rachel was abandoned by Mr. Jones one day, Rachel would no longer have the right to be arrogant.

If Cindy lowered her head and apologized to Rachel today, she would be mocked ruthlessly by her friends. Then, Cindy would be too ashamed to face anyone in the future.

Seeing that Cindy was indifferent, Cindy’s father, Thomas Tory, finally couldn’t help but rush out of the crowd. He grabbed Cindy’s face and slapped her hard.

This slap stunned Cindy.

Cindy buried her face in her hands and stared at her father in disbelief.

At this moment, Thomas couldn’t care less about Cindy’s hurt and aggrieved expression. Thomas just wanted Cindy to apologize as soon as possible. If Cindy really angered Mr. Jones, the weak Tory family couldn’t survive Mr. Jones’s monstrous anger.
