Betrayal At The Altar
Chapter 630
Old Mr. Smith looked at Benson. “Did you bring the will?”
“Yes.” Benson took out the will from his briefcase and handed it to Old Mr. Smith.
Old Mr. Smith picked up the reading glasses on the table and put them on. After carefully reading the will, Old Mr. Smith slowly said. “Help me make the following changes.”
Seeing that Benson was ready, Old Mr. Smith clasped his hands and slowly leaned against the head of the bed. His turbid eyes swept across the door of the ward, and a meaningful cold glint flashed across his eyes. “Give 60% of the total assets under my name and the company’s shares to Rachel for free. The remaining 40% will be divided equally among the branches of the Smith family.”
Hearing this, Benson was stunned.
The bigger the family, the more benefits were involved. There were many people who turned against each other for money.
Back then, Old Mr. Smith had modified his will three times in order to avoid conflict in the Smith family. Benson thought that Old Mr. Smith would favor Louis, but he did not expect that in the end, the person who benefited the most would be an outsider.
“Are you sure you want to give most of the inheritance to an outsider?” Benson could not help but ask.
After all, this was not a small matter.
Once this will was made public, Rachel would be the person who benefited the most and also the person who would be involved in the most disputes.
Rachel was an outsider. It was hard for others not to think much when they knew Rachel received so many inheritances.
Old Mr. Smith raised his hand and took off his glasses. “In your opinion, is there a better way?”
*Forgive me for being blunt, but your preference for Miss Grey might not necessarily be a good thing for her,” Benson said.
Benson had several encounters with Rachel in the Smith family.
Benson also knew Rachel’s situation in the Smith family.
According to the temperament of the Smith family, they would not let it go easily when they learned that Rachel had obtained most of Old Mr. Smith’s inheritances.
Old Mr. Smith smiled. He naturally knew his children.
“That’s why I want you to add another prerequisite: Old Mr. Smith paused for a moment. “Only when Rachel gets the inheritance will they be able to get the rest smoothly!”
In other words, if they opposed Rachel inheriting the estate, they would get nothing.
It had to be said that this move was quite ruthless.
They were clearly unwilling, but they had no choice but to accept it.
“It’s just that…” Benson looked worried. “With Miss Grey’s temperament, she might not be willing to accept it.”
Hearing this, Old Mr. Smith fell silent.
Previously, Old Mr. Smith had tried to transfer his shares to Rachel more than once, but Rachel had rejected him mercilessly.
It was obvious that Rachel did not want to have anything to do with the Smith family, nor did she intend to help the Smith family.
However, Old Mr. Smith knew very well that if Rachel had not appeared back then and pulled the Smith family which was on the verge of bankruptcy back on track, in Seaxas, the Smith family would have long disappeared.
There was a short silence in the ward, but Mrs. Smith, who was outside the ward, was already furious.
If not for Mr. Smith’s tight grip, Mrs. Smith would have rushed into the ward and cursed.
Old Mr. Smith must have gone crazy from his illness.
Old Mr. Smith actually gave most of his inheritances and company shares to outsiders for free?
