Betrayal At The Altar

Chapter 658

Rachel got out of bed and opened the door.

The ser vant respectfully handed the package over. “It was placed in front of the door of the villa. The butler saw your name on it and got someone to bring it in.”

Rachel took the package and weighed it quietly.

It was pretty light.

“Got it.” Rachel took the package and returned to her room.

She shook it from side to side, then cut open the package with a small knife.

Inside was a palm-sized wooden box.

She opened the box and saw a glass bottle containing a light blue liquid.

There was a pink card under the glass bottle, saying, “Ask someone to apply the potion to your body and gave you a massage. It can ease your illness.”

The handwriting on the card was the same as that on the card attached to the bouquet of roses she received in the office the other day.

It suggested that these two things came from the same person.

Rachel frowned lightly. She carefully took out the glass bottle and examined the liquid in it facing the

sun.

Other than the Johnson family, no one else knew about her illness.

She wondered how this person found out about it.

To cure her disease, the Johnson family had spent a lot of money over the years, but after so many experiments, the experts hadn’t developed an efficient antidote yet. They could only use the special medicine with mild side effects to ease her illness.

At this moment, a message suddenly popped up on her phone. [I will never hurt you.]

Rachel picked up her phone and texted back. [?]

After a while, the other party sent another message. [No matter what, I once gave you a ride. Miss Grey has completely forgotten about me. Don’t you think you’re too heartless?]

Seeing this message, Ronnie’s face popped into Rachel’s mind.

“So, the flowers and the package were all delivered by Ronnie?

“But how did he know I was ill?

“How did he know that the potion could ease my illness?”

So many questions flooded Rachel’s mind. She seemed to figure something out, but it disappeared when she tried to catch it.

She stared thoughtfully at the medicine bottle in her hand.

At this moment, her phone suddenly rang. It was David.

“What are you doing?” His deep, magnetic voice rang out on the other end of the line.

Rachel put the glass bottle back into the box and said casually, “I was locked in the room to recuperate. I’m so bored.”

David said something in whispers, but Rachel did not hear it clearly.

A moment later, David’s deep voice sounded again. “Do you want to go with me?”

Hearing that, Rachel immediately perked up. She quickly got up and looked out of the window.

Unfortunately, she saw nothing more than the carefully trimmed flowers and trees in the yard. The man she wanted to see was not there.

“You’re here?”

“I’m waiting for you outside.”

This simple sentence was especially tempting for Rachel.

After hanging up the phone, she changed her clothes and rushed out of her room.

Just as Rachel opened the door, she suddenly thought of something and returned. She picked up the box and walked out again.

When Lucas saw her in such a hurry, he frowned slightly. “Are you going out?”

Rachel hurriedly pressed her fingers against her lips to gesture for him to keep quiet.

“Here you go.” She stuffed the box into Luc a s’s arms. “Let Mr. Bowes test the potion.”
