Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) novel Chapter 682

Chapter 682

David casually took a piece of apple from the plate and tasted it. It was moderately sweet and sour. Then, he handed it to Rachel. His dark eyes stared at her with a gentle light. “Why are you suddenly asking this?”

Rachel took the fruit plate from David and put down the cup in her hand. “I saw a few familiar faces. when I came in just now.”

If she remembered correctly, those people had appeared in Sandalwood Hills.

“It’s them.” David’s thin lips curled into a faint smile, and his eyes were filled with love.

Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly. “It looks like I’m holding you back.”

David always had Billy by his side before, and now Yann joined the team. Chris had become Rachel’s. personal bodyguard, and David had also brought back the people who were guarding Sandalwood Hills. He had done everything that he should and could.

However, the enemy was in the dark, and they were in the open. If the other party really attacked, they could not defend against it.

“Just in case of emergencies.” David did not want to give Rachel any psychological burden.

Moreover, he disagreed with Rachel’s idea that she was a burden.

After a while, Vulture swaggered in while Blackhawk stayed outside and patrolled the surroundings

with the other three.

He pushed the glasses on the bridge of his nose to the top of his head and stretched his arm. Just as he was about to flip into the sofa, David’s sharp gaze casually swept over.

Vulture lowered his gaze guiltily and casually patted the back of the sofa. He muttered to hide his embarrassment, “This sofa is really clean.”

Rachel did not speak, but a hidden smile appeared in her eyes.

“Is this island also the Jones family’s property?” Vulture picked up an apple and took a bite before realizing he had asked a stup*d question.

Since David was sitting here, it was naturally the Jones family’s property.

The atmosphere was a little awkward for a moment before Vulture’s phone suddenly rang.

It was unknown what he saw, but his expression changed subtly.

Especially when he looked at David, his gaze was even more intriguing.

Vulture put away his phone and weighed the apple in his hand. He suddenly felt bored. “Mr. Jones, there’s something I want to ask you alone.”

He controlled his emotions, but he could not help but grit his teeth.

David narrowed his eyes. Then, he stood up and walked out.

Rachel did not say anything but just watched with interest as the two talked in riddles before her.

Although she did not know what message Vulture had just received, she guessed that it must be related to her or… it was related to the car accident at the T-junction.

Otherwise, with Vulture’s personality, there was no need to hide it from her like this.

After they walked out, Vulture lit a cigarette and looked at David with a solemn expression. “Did you find out about the car accident?”

“What are you trying to say?” David lowered his gaze. No one could see the expression in his eyes, nor could they guess his emotions.

Vulture pursed his lips and took a puff of his cigarette. “I know from the Red Flame that you and Twelve are engaged, but this engagement was agreed by Old Mrs. Jones against all odds. Not every one of the Jones family acknowledges it.”

David did not say anything, but his eyebrows moved slightly, indicating for Vulture to continue.

Meeting his gaze, Vulture found it inexplicably difficult to say what was on the tip of his tongue.

David was like an existence above everyone else. No matter who stood in front of him, no matter how arrogant the other party was, he had no choice but to admit defeat in front of David.

“You can take a horse to the water, but you can’t make him drink. Since Old Mr. Jones disapproves of her, why do you have to force her to stay?” Vulture hesitated for a long time before finally speaking up, “Forgive me for being blunt, but your Jones family is not a place where people can live a peaceful life. Do you want to watch Twelve die before your eyes?”
