That was as good as announcing his relationship with Rachel to the world. 

It was also to tell everyone that the wealthiest family in Seaxas, the Johnson family, had David backing them up.

He could not stand by and watch as Rachel jumped into the pits of hell. 

All those years, he had raised Rachel up meticulously. She was slender and elegant and possessed the grace of a flower. Old Mr. Johnson was not only carrying out his daughter’s last wishes, but he truly adored Rachel. 

Although Rachel was his granddaughter, he had long regarded Rachel as his daughter after so many years. 

David seemed to know what Old Mr. Johnson was about to say next. A dark glint flashed across his eyes. “Mr. Johnson, my grandmother will visit you in the next two days to discuss the engagement personally.” 

The people around thein went into a commotion when they heard this. 

Rachel and David had not only confirmed their relationship, but they were about to get engaged. It was out of their expectation. 

That meant that their daughters had no fighting chance at all. 

Old Mr. Johnson stared at David. He pondered and was silent for very long. Finally, Old Mr. Johnson sighed softly. “Alright” He sounded despondent. 

Lucas stood at the side and did not say anything. He was quietly observing the change in Old Mr. Johnson’s expression. 

His intuition told him that Old Mr. Johnson was against Rachel and David being together. There must be a reason behind 

this. 

As he contemplated, a shadow emerged out of the crowd. 

When he realized it was Hans, Lucas’s eyes narrowed. A forbidding aura radiated from within the depths of his glare. 

He thought his earlier threats were enough to dispel any unwanted desires Hans had. Seemed like it was difficult for a leopard to change its spots. 

He had actually sneaked into this bidding event. 

Hans’s intentions were clear. 

Lucas looked at his assistance, and the latter immediately understood his instructions. 

The assistant hurried forward. Before the shameless Hans could take another step closer to them, the assistant covered his face and dragged him out. 

The sudden move caught Hans off guard. He struggled with all his might, but he could not break free. 

Until the assistant threw him out of the hotel. 

“Who are you, people? Do you know who I am?” Hans glared at the assistant in front of him. 

The assistant looked at him blankly. He was so calm, like he was looking at an ordinary piece of trash. 

Hans grew irate when he realized he had missed that opportunity to establish a relationship and get close to the wealthiest family in Seaxas.
