Jennifer and Zidane remained in their car as Daniel worked on Samuel. Neither of them seemed in any hurry to leave.
"Why aren't we leaving yet?" Jennifer frowned in irritation.
Zidane chuckled, a smirk playing on his lips. "Because the show's just getting started."
Jennifer shot him a sharp glance. "What do you mean?"
"This whole thing is a trap that Mr. Dooly set up!" Zidane's eyes narrowed in amusement. "Samuel has been poisoned by a toxin that clings to its host like maggots to rotting flesh.
"Once infected, getting rid of it is next to impossible."
"What!?" Jennifer's eyes widened in shock.
Zidane scoffed, noticing her reaction. "What's the matter? Are you feeling sorry for him? Don't forget your place!
"Relax, Mr. Dooly isn't planning to kill him. He just wants to turn him into a cripple!"
"A cripple?" Jennifer's expression subtly shifted.
If Daniel died, she wasn't sure if she could accept it.
But if he was crippled… Now, that was a future she was very interested in seeing.
Once that happened, she could control him. She would drag him back to her side, whether he liked it or not.
Inside the room, Leopold's brows furrowed as he watched the unnatural color spread across Daniel's palm.
This was not a good thing for Daniel.
Alfie, standing nearby, grew visibly anxious. He wanted to tell Daniel to back off, but the words caught in his throat instead.
Instead, he could only rub his hands nervously, throwing Daniel desperate glances in an attempt to signal his concern.
Derick, on the other hand, smirked coldly as he observed the situation, thinking, "Young fool. This is what happens when you try to show off without thinking!"
Despite all this, Daniel remained as composed as ever. It was as if he didn't even feel the poison surging through his system!
He finally lifted his hand after completely expelling the toxin from Samuel's body.
"Rest assured, Mr Gallagher. This time, the problem is gone for good." His voice was calm, unwavering.
Samuel, still catching his breath, glanced at Daniel's hand warily. Though he was beyond grateful, he couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Ashcroft, are you sure you're okay?"
Daniel flashed an easygoing smile. "No need to worry!"
