Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 296

Gordon looked at Daniel in shock. "Thank you, Sir! I'll never forget your life-saving kindness!"

"Grandpa!" Yvette's face was filled with joy. Though she'd hoped for a miracle, she found it hard to believe it'd actually happened.

"I'm sorry, Evie. I must've given you a fright." Gordon patted her head affectionately before turning to Xander. "And you've grown up too, Xan!"

Yvette turned and bowed deeply at Daniel. "Thank you for saving my grandpa's life, Mr. Ashcroft!"

The latter waved dismissively and helped her up. "I told you, this is a deal. Don't go back on your words, Ms. Winters."

As he spoke, Gordon's body trembled, and the sound of blood rushing through his veins became distinctly audible. His previously frail, withered body regained its strength and grew visibly robust.

"You have a cold toxin suppressed in your body, and your blood energy was severely depleted. It was thanks to that wild ginseng sustaining your life that you managed to hold on until now," Daniel remarked after scanning his face.

Sensing the long-lost warmth coursing through his body, Gordon's eyes filled with astonishment. His internal injuries had completely disappeared, and he could sense his increase in strength.

"That doesn't make any sense!" the attending doctor exclaimed. He'd just witnessed Gordon's transformation and couldn't hold back his shock.

"For safety reasons, I strongly recommend you undergo a full-body examination, Mr. Winters Senior. The hospital will cover all costs!"

"No need. I know my body best." Gordon waved dismissively before turning to glare at Aaden, who was stealthily creeping toward the door. "Brat! Did I say you could leave?"

Aaden turned around with a forced smile. "Dad, it's wonderful that you're alive! I'm happy for you from the bottom of my heart!"

"You wished I were dead! I won't kill you, but go back and tell the Mcgraths that they won't get their hands on anything from the Winters family!"
