Chapter 45
TITUS
“Argh!” I shouted in pain as the evil trapped inside my body began to become stronger as the day went by. I don’t know how long I will be able to hold on to this.
“Alpha!” Scott ran towards me. “Should we call the elder again? It seems like the potion isn’t working anymore,” he said worriedly.
“No need. I can still manage,” I said, stopping him as I tried to catch my breath. Though it was utterly painful. I’m already getting used to it. There’s not much that we can do aside from getting through this pain until it goes away. I’ve been doing this for centuries, so this time wasn’t much of a difference.
Scott was hesitant to follow my order, but he had no other choice. A few minutes passed when one of the palace aides arrived and whispered something to Scott.
“The seer?” he uttered.
“What is it, Scott?” I asked him.
“The seer, Alpha. It seems like he has seen a new vision, he explained. “And it has something to do with the leviathan locked inside you.”
“Go on, let him in,” I replied. I forced myself to get up from my bed. Scott helped me to stand up. I will not let my adherents see me in that pitiful state.
Scott helped me into my royal robe; his hands were steady and efficient. Once I was decent, he signaled the other man to open the door and let the seer in.
“Your Majesty,” the seer greeted, his face mostly hidden beneath his usual robe.
“What is it?” I asked, sensing the urgency in his demeanor.
“A part of the prophecy has been revealed, Your Majesty. And it seems there is still hope.”
“Continue,” I ordered, my curiosity piqued.
“A woman with a red wolf is destined to kill the leviathan inside you, Your Majesty. She is the only one who can eliminate evil without sacrificing your life. With the help of a blade blessed by the moon goddess, the evil will be vanquished before it can walk the earth,” he explained. “The vision arrived just as your body is growing weaker by the day. This can only mean one thing,” he said, pausing for effect. “The red wolf has manifested as well.”
His words hung in the air, heavy with implication. The prophecy, long a source of both dread and hope, was finally beginning to unfold. I felt a mixture of relief and apprehension.
“Who is this woman?” I asked, trying to maintain my composure. “And where can we find her?”
Chapter 45
“The vision was not specific about her identity, Your Majesty, but it is clear that she is already within your reach,” the seer replied. “Her presence will become undeniable as the leviathan’s power grows.”
My thoughts raced. A woman with a red wolf. I once read about the ancient wolf. It only appears during times when there’s an eminent danger.
“Scott,” I said, turning to my trusted aide. “We must discreetly investigate every woman in the palace. Look for any signs of a red wolf. Report to me immediately with any findings.”
“Yes, Your Majesty,” Scott replied, bowing slightly before leaving to carry out my orders.
The seer continued, “You must prepare yourself, Your Majesty. The battle ahead will be arduous. The red wolf’s power is immense, but it must be guided with wisdom and strength. The blade blessed by the moon goddess can only be used once. And it can only be used by the one harnessing the power of the red wolf. After it serves its purpose, the power of the moon blade will be gone along with the red wolf.”
“I understand,” I said, my resolve hardening. “Is there any way that I can recognize this woman?”
“I’m afraid I have nothing to offer you when it comes to that. But one thing I can assure you, she will kill the evil and remove the curse from Your Majesty.”
It was such a relief to hear that there’s still hope. After thousands of years of being a vessel for this evil, I can finally be free. All we can do right now is just wait until my Savior shows herself.
A few minutes after the seer left, I had another unexpected guest.
“Your Majesty, the queen is outside, seeking an audience,” Scott said, his voice tinged with concern.
I took a deep breath, the weight of the situation pressing down on me. “Let her in,” I replied, my voice steady despite the turmoil inside.
Scott nodded and hurried to the door. Moments later, Jane entered. She frowned upon seeing me, her eyes narrowing with concern and suspicion.
“Your Majesty, are you alright?” She asked, standing in front of me.
I was sitting on my office chair inside my chamber, my body barely holding together the pain inside me. No one knew about the curse aside from Scott, my beta, and the council of elders.
“Yes, why wouldn’t I be?” I replied, forcing a smile and trying my best not to show the pain that’s eating me inside. “What brings you here?” I asked, my tone guarded.
Jane’s eyes squinted as she eyed me suspiciously. Though she held the title of queen, she was one of the few people I couldn’t trust. Her allegiance was always questionable, and I couldn’t afford to show any weakness in her presence.
“I heard rumors,” she began, her voice laced with an edge of curiosity and doubt. “Whispers among the s**ts that you haven’t been yourself lately. Is there something you’re not telling me?”
I clenched my jaw, resisting the urge to let my frustration show. “There are always rumors, Jane. You

should know better than to listen to idle gossip.”

She stepped closer, her eyes never leaving mine. “I’m not here because of idle gossip, Your Majesty. I’m here because I care about the well-being of this kingdom. If something is wrong, I need to know.”
Her words rang hollow, and I could sense the ulterior motives behind her concern. Jane had always been more interested in power and control than in the welfare of the kingdom. But I couldn’t afford to reveal my vulnerability to her.
“I’m perfectly fine,” I insisted, my voice firm. “Now, if there’s nothing else, I have matters to attend to.”
Jane hesitated, clearly unsatisfied with my response, but she finally nodded. “Very well, Your Majesty. But remember, I’m always here if you need anything.”
As she turned to leave, I couldn’t help but feel a chill run down my spine. Jane’s presence always seemed to carry an underlying threat.
Once she was gone, I let out a shaky breath, the pain in my chest intensifying. Scott returned, his face etched with worry.
“We need to move as fast as possible, Scott. We’re running out of time; I can feel it. Find the girl and the blade.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.” He then bowed before he left my chamber.

The readers' comments on the novel: Betrayed by an Alpha claimed by a Lycan King (Sage and Titus)
Is it finished?...
...i mean...you had the perfect ending...why keep going?? ugh...i feel like author is going to continue with twists and turns [-_-]...
Don't mean to be rude but half the chapters are missing. As in your only publishing Half the chapter. Not all of it...
Would love more chapters...
ok just as a recap because i'm getting confused with this plot: sage (the daughter of the ex-alpha who was killed for betraying his pack) is contracted to marry the lycan king bc the present alpha doesn't want to give his own daughter to the king. sage sleeps with someone before the wedding (turns out to be the king). there's a caper at the palace where the king doesn't let her look at him bc he wants to keep her guessing for some reason but eventually she finds out that man she slept with is her husband now. there are other concubines and a queen but for some reason titus still doesn't have an heir despite being like thousands of years old. there is a prophecy that a red wolf will destroy the evil inside the king and when it comes to pass titus looks like he dies. sage runs away (she is the red wolf) bc shes scared of being called a killer. when she comes back titus has been manipulated to believe her "sister" is his mate. there's an intermission where sage runs away with her handmaiden to new york and they start a life for themselves. until titus buys out the company bc he's filthy rich and drags her back. the sister gets punished and jailed to be killed, but sage's intervention (due to her previous feelings for the brother) prevents her death. there's a point when the royal elders storm the castle and titus is jailed and almost at the point of death. taking the beta and her handmaiden they rescue titus and restore him to health. while sage was in new york, titus had somehow found his dead wife again (anna?) and she's very childlike and annoying. all the times sage saves titus doesn't matter because he's been deposed as king and brainwashed by his dead wife to believe she's everything to him. titus dissolves the bond between he and sage (bc of pressure from previous wife) but still has feelings for her and still sleeps with her while trying to reclaim his throne by making alliances with other werewolf packs. a bounty hunter offers his help but demands sage as the price. titus says no, but sage goes behind his back anyway and makes the deal. thinking titus is blinded by sage's presence that prevents him from forming alliance with a pack and having that alpha's daughter as his queen, she runs way with the bounty hunter and he puts her up for sale (she's an idiot for doing this). finding out she's pregnant with an accelerated pregnancy (due to blood moon sex?) she runs away from the auction house and is rescued by a couple who never had kids miles away from where she ran away. 3 years or so pass and she is happy with her chosen family until the bounty hunter finds her again and she goes with him to keep him away from her kids only to be rescued by titus at the auction house. he also finds her kids (bc they obvy would run away to find her) but she for some reason convinces them to lie and say they're not her kids. reunited again, they come across rogue wolves who hurt titus, but they somehow all fit into the helicopter that comes at the right time to save them all. titus while being gravely ill still saves sage from being sentenced to death, but now her kids are in danger....
ok now im reinvested! I hope the kids will be ok! titus now would be a good time to wake up!...
If possible, kindly change the title of the book too because Sage is suppose to be happy with Titus but this back and forth is making the book boring...
Please this has to stop , Titus is suppose to be her savior but she's going through too much...
This book really started good. And for whatever reason, the author keeps on adding boring and nonsensical twist to the story. I'm just skipping through chapters and story still the same.repeating issues and conflict and convo. So tiring. I'm just checking in hoping I can read the ending. Lolz...
We need an end soon. It getting boting and is so boring. Also people is missing. Were is her former maid and scott used to be her friend now he treat her like a stranger...
