Betrothed To The Mafia Lord novel Chapter 267

Luca’s POV

I locked the door firmly once James had stepped out, and I could hear the sound of his car being started and driven out of the compound late at night as I started to make my way back into the dining room. Sofia was still inside of it when I pulled the doors and made my way into it, and I watched as she raised her head up to stare at me as I began to make my way towards the table which was completely bare.

I walked past her and sank into the seat I had previously occupied, watching as she placed her phone on the table before turning her head until she was staring at me.

“Is he gone?” She asked after a few seconds and I gave a nod of my head.

“Yes, he is. He’s heading straight for his house.”

“Uh, I don’t know if he already told you this but he knew what it was that you were doing to me beneath the table.” She slowly continued to speak and I blinked at her confusingly.

“I was doing something to you beneath the table tonight?” I asked after some seconds had passed and I watched as she started to shake her head with a small laugh bubbling past her lips.

“No, not tonight, I was talking about the night where we all had dinner together on the rooftop of that hotel some days ago.” She paused and pushed her hair to the back of her ear before continuing.

“He knew. He figured out what it was you were doing to me beneath the table on that night and our eyes locked that night, and I don’t know…” She trailed off after a ffw seconds and I started to wonder what it was that had probably been going on in her mind. I had no idea James even knew about it on that particular night until the very next day when he had told me about it himself, and there I was, thinking Sofia didn’t know about it, and even deciding not to let her know about it, not knowing that she was very much aware of it.

It could be the reason as to why she couldn’t really meet his eyes tonight like the way she had done at that rooftop…

“Bunny?” I called out and watched as she lifted her gaze to settle it on my face, right before he continued.

“We’re all grownups, you know? So I’m sure that even if he knew about it, he wouldn’t mind, and I’m sure he has probably forgotten about it to begin with.” I said to her, knowing that I was completely lying through my teeth about that last part because James sure as hell wasn’t forgotten any of it till date, and wouldn’t be forgetting it for a while at least.

“Yeah, I guess you’re right…” She murmured before lifting her gaze and shrugging a little before continuing. “It’s just embarrassing.” She admitted with another lift of her shoulders.
