Fleur ran to the kitchen, peeking at Olivier. He stood tall, light shifting through his hair, leaving shadows rippling on his shirt. The light illuminated his outline.
As the light casted along his body, his shadow lengthened. Fleur went and stomped on his head's shadow.
Then his chest, waist, between his legs, slowly leaning against him. She inhaled the fragrance of his skin left from the shower. "You smell so good."
Olivier put down the spatula and picked up the knife. He grabbed a strand of her hair and sliced it off.
Fleur inhaled sharply.
Olivier said coldly, "Are you leaving me alone?"
"You're so fierce!" Fleur shot him a disapproving glare and retreated.
The phone rang as soon as she went back into the office.
"Speak." She quipped.
"Miss Leroy, the police just called. They're saying the Lopez family want you to come forth to the police station immediately. If you don't it will count as not cooperating with the police and they'll take you away by force."
The Lopez family had begun their plots.
"Also, something's wrong with the customers tonight. They seem to have all come together insisting to see you; many have already started causing trouble. I feel like they're brewing a plan here. I'm concerned we won't be able to handle the crowd any further if more people come."
"If something happens, use force."
"Huh?" Still using force? Do we really need to do that right now?
Fleur said calmly, "Follow our club's rules by the book. Additionally, let everyone know all drinks bought from nine to midnight tonight is on the house."
That was hundreds of millions worth of drinks! All for free?
"Alright, go do the needful. I'll take care of whatever happens." Fleur hung up and examined the monitor in deep thought.
......
When she went back to the kitchen her hair had already been tied back, revealing her delicate face.
"Master Olivier?" She smiled at Olivier while leaning against the table. A dish of stir-fried vegetables and pork sat in the middle.
Beside the dish sat two bowls of noodles. This was her first time seeing this kind of meal setup.
Olivier who had just finished cooking sat elegantly before her, carrying no trace of oil or smoke.
"So handsome!"
Olivier gave her a knowing look. "If food can't stop your persistent wandering, then leave now. Don't be an eyesore."
Ah, Fleur thought he was actually more cool like this, rejecting her advances. Olivier was as attractive as he was dismissive.
"Let's eat." She sat opposite him, picked up some noodles and vegetables and began eating.
It tasted good.
Fleur finished her plate quickly, and saw there was no more noodles in the pot.
"...I'm still hungry."
Olivier stayed silent, eating slowly. A pair of cleaned chopsticks appeared in his bowl a moment later, picking up a noodle. Fleur's face was inches away from his when he looked up, wearing a gleeful smile.
Her soft lips stained with oil looked watery and plump, straightening up with her smile.
"Can I have some?" She picked up some more noodles. "I usually work very late. I can't stay up if I don't eat more, could I have some please?"
Olivier inhaled deeply, set down his chopsticks, and looked at her. His eyes were dark wells.
"Fleur Leroy."
"Hmm?"
"How rude can you be?"
"I'm not being presumptuous. I'm just..." She huffed and retreated. "Fine, I won't eat anymore."
Fleur said nothing, her beautiful eyes clouded with an unreadable expression.
After a while, she said in a low voice, "Miss Lopez was graced by luck. But I was chosen by you."
Olivier would remember that sentence for many years after. This impeccably beautiful woman sitting opposite him while saying that.
"Miss Lopez was graced by luck. But I was chosen by you."
......
Fleur took a sip of water while on the sofa, feeling her stomach settle.
Olivier had left. She had been on the sofa for at least two hours without leaving the spot.
A fight had broken out. She had more a dozen monitors on with one of them having no video feed. It had likely been damaged.
The situation had escalated outside. Obviously it was done on purpose by the Lopez family.
She actually had an easy way to solve this, which was revealing herself. Everyone just wanted to have a glimpse of who she was. If she showed herself, things would pipe down.
That was the only way to keep the peace tonight.
Fleur got up. She was in casualwear, the kind that would create a more gentle, friendly feel. She did not have to change it.
When she arrived at the door, Raoul was standing there. He had been there for God knows how long.
"Miss Leroy."
Fleur hummed in greeting.
"Are you going downstairs?"
"Why? Do I have to report that to you?"
"I don't mean that, it's just that Mr. Martinez has said that you can't reveal yourself to the public, nor can everyone know you're The Stunning Club's owner. Mrs. Martinez can't be affiliated with a nightclub, and Grandma especially cannot know."
