Chapter 171 

Olivia’s departure was sudden. Gillian did not notice at all. It wasn’t until the nurse in her grandfather’s ward came to report that Olivia had not come for the entire day that she suddenly realized it. 

Why did Olivia suddenly leave? 

Gillian raised her eyebrows slightly and suddenly had a bad feeling. 

Because she had too many things to worry about these days, and because of the banquet that was going to be held when she took over the Smith family in ten more days, her heart had been tense, afraid that something would happen!

Jim shook his head and apologetically said, “I’m sorry, Ms. Smith. I fell asleep and don’t know where Olivia is. I just asked the hotel. Olivia has checked out. Only Blake is still here.” 

“Check out?” Gillian was anxious. “Where did she go?” 

Gillian did not take over the Smith family completely and announced it to the public, which made Gillian uneasy. Gillian was always afraid her grandfather would have a trump card for Olivia to catch her off guard.

“Okay,” Gillian nodded. “Then hurry up.” 

After hanging up the phone, Gillian leaned forward and rested her arms. on the desk. Her fingertips tapped on the phone screen, looking like she was in deep thought. 

Where on earth did Olivia go? 

Would Olivia use their past friendship to seek help from those big shots? 

Olivia shouldn’t do so! 

Gillian shook her head and denied it as soon as she thought of it. 

In the past, those big shots were willing to pay attention to Olivia because of her grandfather. Now that she was here herself, they would definitely not help her if she did not have enough weight.

Half an hour later, Jim called. “Ms. Smith, I’ve checked. Olivia should still be in Layfield. She didn’t go anywhere but hid.”

The man frowned and was about to persuade Olivia, but Olivia lowered her head and looked at the computer again. 

He swallowed the words that were about to come out of his mouth. When they arrived at their destination, Olivia followed the person who came out to pick her up into the secret base. 

The man followed closely behind Olivia. When they reached the door, he subconsciously wanted to follow her in, but he was suddenly pulled to the side by a hand. 

It was Tyson Burton, the driver! 

“What are you doing?” The man frowned. 

Tyson pulled the man to a corner and handed him a cigarette. “Come on, have a cigarette.” 

The man took the cigarette from Tyson’s mouth and reprimanded, “Why are you smoking? Have you forgotten your identity?” 

“You forgot yours, didn’t you?” Tyson smiled faintly. 

The man held his breath. His lean body instantly accumulated strength, as if he was about to explode at any moment. 

Tyson ignored him. He took out a cigarette and bit it in his mouth. His expression did not change as he said, “The higher–ups sent us to protect Miss Taylor. Miss Taylor’s will is the priority. You overstepped your boundaries in the car just then!”

The Nimbus Gaze was an extension of the existing Skynet system. It was a satellite system that could manipulate satellites, collect all images and audio information, and process them. 

Olivia had a special identity and was considered a non–staff member. She did not participate in the entire system’s preparation. Only when the team had a problem did she come forward to solve it. 

The problem the team encountered this time was the computational speed. The Nimbus Gaze was almost completed. Even the most difficult technical challenge of controlling satellites had been resolved. 

But now they were facing the biggest problem, which was the computer speed was too slow. 

It processed a massive amount of information, searched for helpful information in a haystack, and analyzed it to get the correct answer. The period of time was too long, which would take a month!
