Maximus thought, “As soon as she realized I didn’t come home, couldn’t wait to come knocking, and she even brought so many helpers!”

Maximus chuckled at the audacity of Huntley’s actions, If Huntley were to go berserk, tearing down the veil of modesty, exposing their secrets to the public, and maybe even giving him a well–deserved slap, he might have a shred of respect left for her.

But Huntley remained timid, clinging to him like a lifeline.

Maximus was growing increasingly impatient.

He coldly said, “Don’t bother,” and then hung up the phone without hesitation. On the other end of the line, his secretary was almost in tears. The secretary trembled and looked at the woman in front of him, who appeared friendly and warm. “Mr. Frank said he has some business to attend to and will be back shortly. You can wait here.”

Elena frowned and turned to Olivia, asking, “Miss Taylor, are we supposed to wait?”

Olivia raised her gaze nonchalantly and replied, “Go to Maximus’s apartment.” With those words, the group of people left in an organized manner.

The secretary breathed a sigh of relief and made another call to Maximus.

On the other end of the line, Maximus was on the verge of anger. “Didn’t I tell you not to call me again? Are you trying to get yourself killed?”

“Mr. Frank,” the secretary hurriedly interjected before Maximus could hang up, “that group of people is heading to your apartment, and they’ve already left. Be careful.”

“What?” Maximus stood up, a hint of surprise in his eyes.

Now that he had calmed down, he walked over to the sofa, sat down, and asked, “Tell me in detail, what’s going on over there?”

The secretary nodded and said, “I counted a total of 18 people, led by a woman. they all call Miss Taylor. She has a strong presence, and there’s also a Ms. Wayne who appears to be her assistant. They’re on their way to your apartment. It

“Many people?” Maximus coldly sneered, his tone tinged with sarcasm. “This is a lawful society. What does it matter if there are many people? Are they planning to use force? I won’t meet with them for the time being.”

He did not care about these people at all. If they were on the way, so be it. If they arrived, they could only stand at the gate.

He would not see them even for a second!

Maximus hung up the phone decisively and turned to walk towards Kaira.

Before he reached the bedside, there was a loud pounding on the door.

Maximus’s face turned icy, and his expression was infuriated. He thought, “These people are really going too far! They need a lesson!”

He picked up his phone, ready to call the building’s security to have them remove this group.
