Travis buckled the suitcase and pulled on the lever.
He turned his head and took a deep look at the house in which he and Aleena had lived for some time with some feeling.
He would always remember everything that happened in this house.
It was the most beautiful experience he had had in his life.
If... If it was still possible...
If he could find her...
Then, in any case, he would never let go of her, at any price.
One day, he would find her.
Travis locked the door, pulled on the suitcase and left without looking back.
...
Spencer was taking Aleena for a walk.
The two walked slowly side by side.
Aleena was lost in thought. They quietly walked side by side which seemed to have never happened before.
He and she hurt each other before and there was not any tenderness and quiet at all.
She was not used to such way of getting along with. And she was tense.
These days, Spencer took care of her, and he would meet any of her request and idea. He was simply obedient to Aleena.
If it was the previous Aleena, she would be touched by that.
But now she was not what she used to be.
No matter how much he repented, no matter how good he was to her, the scars of the past still stood there and could not be erased.
“I know what you're thinking. You're afraid.” Spencer spoke softly.
Aleena looked up at him and her body stiffened.
Spencer continued, “Don't be afraid, Aleena. You just need to accept it.”
Aleena said, “In fact, I don't think you have to do this. If you just want to make up for it, you can give me a sum of money and let me go.”
Once the words were spoken, both of them were stunned.
The words seemed to lift all the clouds and everything became clear.
Spencer closed his eyes and suddenly broke into a low smile.
Yeah, why would he do that?
Make up? He could have made it up to her materially, given her a sum of money and let her go, or given her child the best conditions...
Of all the choices, why did he choose this one?
Inseparable care, obedient attitude...
