Blind date turned proposal (Josie and Dexter) novel Chapter 944

Asserting the moral high ground, he constantly made her question herself, gradually eroding her confidence in life. Calvin was even willing to imprison her just to torment her indefinitely.

Zendaya covered her face with both hands and cried until she nearly fainted. "Will you forgive me? I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I was too scared back then..."

"You can tell Yoel that."

The room was filled with the sound of sobbing. The door was slightly ajar, allowing light to fall on Calvin's shoulders, yet he remained engulfed in solitude and desolation.

A sudden soft noise pierced Calvin's ears. As if guided by an unseen force, he looked up and gazed into the distance, his eyes landing on a woman who shouldn't have been there.

Mallory's voice was weary. Facing Josie's astonishment, she forced a bitter smile and said, "That happened when I was nineteen. In the blink of an eye, I'm already twenty-three."

So much had transpired over the years that it was impossible to recount everything at once.

Josie was already amazed. She had always believed that Mallory had many stories, but she never expected this.

"Do you have any regrets?" She clenched her fists.

Mallory's mind wandered as she replied, "My biggest regret is not stopping their marriage. Josie, if you have a choice, I hope you won't end up regretting like I did."

That was a hint.

Josie, realizing belatedly, was about to leave and pressed the button for the third floor in the elevator. Moses noticed her unusual state and asked, "Aren't we leaving?"

"I still have a friend to meet."

"What friend?"

Josie looked at him. "Do you have to report everything I do and everyone I talk to to Dexter?"

Moses pursed his lips, nodding slightly.
