“Allison?”
Lawrence frowned when Allison had suddenly occurred to him, and after looking up and shooting a glance towards the clock, he tossed the report in his hand into the bin and scooped up his coat while rising to his feet.
When he had just reached the door, his phone which was nested in his pocket rang timely.
His complexion simmered down silently after he had peeked at the caller ID, and he proceeded to walk out from the office while picking up the call.
“Hello? Are you still busy now, Lawrence? Cough! Cough…”
“No, I’m not. I’ll come over now. Has the doctor dropped by?”
“I’m fine. It’s just that I’m running a fever again somehow although the doctor has come by during noon. You don’t have to pay me a visit if you are busy.”
“Not at all. Nothing is important than you.”
“Alright then, I’ll wait for you.”
After Allison had hung up on Lawrence, the smile on her lips slowly faded as her grip on the phone tightened.
She stared coldly at her subordinate whom was standing in front of her as she asked, “Have you run a background check on the woman whom is being left in Lawrence’s room under his order to make the antidote this afternoon?”
“Yes, she’s Charlotte Garcia, the eldest daughter of the Garcia family from the south of City B. She has returned recently after leaving City B with someone else five years ago, and the reason as to why she is with Mr. Harris is due to her saving Ms. Emma from being kidnapped by human traffickers down in the lobby.”
Allison narrowed her eyes while taking in the information, and her stunning face was gradually clouded with frigidness under the light as she ordered in a tone that was manifested with menacing iciness, “Continue digging further, and find out whether she is Lawrence’s former acquaintance or the woman whom has left him five years ago. Keep me posted on any update.”
Lawrence was never the kind of person whom would act recklessly despite being drugged.
If it was purely an accident, Allison would not get to the bottom of the incident that had happened this afternoon, but if it was not… She would not put up with anyone whom was trying to get involved between her and Lawrence at this critical point of time.
