Caroline was half awake, and she didn’t feel as if she was lying in bed. Instead, she fell as if she were lying in a bed of flowers, and she could sorell all kinds of scents. 

She finally woke up and tapped Kirk’s chin lightly with her lingers. 

Kirk nodded slightly and placed a kiss on her fingers. “Are you okay?

“Not yet,” Kirk picked up his phone and sent Charles a message. Then, he put his phone back on the bedside table. 

He said, “He’ll be here in 15 minutes. I’ll go downstairs and get you a plece of toast now.”

She looked into Kirk’s eyes and pondered for a moment. “I need to talk to you about something.”

He worked so hard to make Caroline gain some weight, but that weight would probably be gone from the stress of working at Evans Group.

Finally, she could no longer hold it back, and a large grin spread on her face, 

The next day, Caroline saw Jack’s car in front of her house. She hesitated for a moment, then walked to the car. 

Neither of them spoke as if nothing had changed. Last night, they reached an agreement that Jack would join Evans Group and become her full–time driver.
