Hearing the voices of the police, the bodyguards felt like they had heard the voice of an angel. 

They quickly raised their arms in surrender. Then, they huddled to one side with their arms still up. 

The police were flabbergasted by the sight that awaited them. 

Kirk eyed them for a moment before picking Caroline up again. He slowly went down the mountain as the police watched. 

In Kirk’s embrace, Caroline felt her face burning. “Kirk.” 

“Yes?” 

“You were very handsome just now.” 

Kirk paused in his steps as he looked down at Caroline. “What did you say?” 

Her face was completely red by now. She pouted. “I didn’t say anything.” 

He smiled slightly. “But I heard it.” 

“Why ask if you already heard it?” 

“I want to hear it again.” 

Caroline pressed her lips together and kept silent. 

Kirk didn’t say anything more, either. He carried Caroline swiftly down the mountain. 

At the foot of the mountain, there was an ambulance waiting. Kirk carried Caroline into the vehicle. 

A doctor immediately came over to check on Caroline. With the doctor in the way, Caroline couldn’t see Kirk. She panicked and raised her hand instinctively. “Kirk…”

She instantly felt at ease. Her eyelids started to droop. She mumbled something softly. 

The doctor asked, “Miss, what did you say?” 

Caroline’s lips moved again. However, the doctor didn’t hear it clearly. Thus, he could only bend

Charles spotted Daphne, too. His gaze became chilling as he waved a hand and instructed, “Arrest them all.”

The men went forward. Jane, Daphne, and Liam had no chance to fight back. Soon, they were brought before Charles. 

He swept a glance over them and said, “Take them away.” 

Unable to accept that this was the outcome of the situation, Jane struggled. 

“Hold it. What makes you think you can take us away? I’m the wife of Howard Collins. You better let me go quickly, or I’ll make sure you get it!”
