After leaving the hospital, Eddy’s mood still didn’t get better. He felt as if he had lost something 

important 

He wanted to turn around and get it back, but he couldn’t find anything. This negative feeling 

persisted, and there was no way for him to get rid of it. 

Meanwhile, Kirk opened the door to the hospital room. “Darling.” 

When Caroline heard noises, she immediately looked up and put down her phone. 

“You’re back! Where did you go? Are you hurt?” 

Caroline’s concern made Kirk curl his lips into a smile. He sat down by the bed and wrapped an 

arm around her waist. 

“Did you miss me that much? It’s only been a while since I left.” 

Caroline’s hospital gown was very thin. When Kirk placed his warm hand on her waist, she felt 

her cheeks quickly turn red from his touch. 

She lowered her head and said bashfully, “As if I missed you.” 

“I can’t believe you’re still trying to be stubborn. Who was the one who said our marriage was 

doing well and no one could break us apart?” 

Caroline’s face turned redder at his words, as if someone had painted on her cheeks. Her red face 

made her look really cute. Kirk couldn’t resist eating her up. 

However, Caroline became annoyed. She raised her fist and gently hit Kirk’s chest with it. “You 

heard what I said?” 

“I heard it by chance.” Kirk kissed her cheek. 

“I never knew I was so important to you, darling.” 

“Don’t celebrate too soon.” Caroline avoided Kirk’s kiss. 

She said, “I still haven’t forgiven you for what happened last time. Though it’s not your fault, 

you’ve made me sad for so long. So I won’t let you off that easily.” 

Kirk put his hands on either side of her with a smile on his face. His nose touched Caroline’s, and

Somehow, Caroline could hear a hint of tenderness in his tone. She felt her mouth going dry, and 

she swallowed. 

“Darling. Kirk lowered his head slightly and kissed Caroline’s lips. 

“I’ve missed you so much.” 

His actions began to make Caroline turn into a puddle. Her fingers tightly grasped Kirk’s clothes, 

and her voice was delicate and soft, like honey. “Kirk…” 

It had been too long since they had been so intimate. Everything that happened made them act 

strange, cautious, and tentative. 

However, when they earnestly conveyed how they felt, Caroline set aside her bashfulness and 

embraced the feelings of passion she had dearly missed.

She nestled herself in Kirk’s arms and grumbled, “It hurts.”
