Kirk was very efficient. They moved back to the villa in less than a day. 

When Caroline came home from work, she was surprised to see the living room and kitchen 

neatly tidied. “You tidied all of this up so soon! How many people did you hire?” 

Kirk smiled and suddenly raised his voice, “Ms. Carter!” 

Caroline turned her head in confusion. Then, she saw an older lady walking out of the bathroom 

The lady was in her early 50s and wearing an apron. She seemed to be cleaning the house. 

“Who is this?” Caroline asked curiously. 

“This is Edith Carter. She’ll be our housekeeper from now on. She’ll handle our daily necessities, 

so you don’t have to work so hard.” 

Caroline pulled Kirk aside and asked softly, “How much are you paying her?” 

She didn’t care about the money, but she was worried about Kirk spending his money. 

“Just one thousand dollars a month. It’s not a lot of money, but I can still afford it ” 

Kirk stroked Caroline’s head. “I just don’t want you to tire yourself out, darling.” 

Caroline’s face turned slightly red. “You’re such a sweet talker.” 

“And it’s all just for you,” Kirk said sweetly, deliberately moving his lips to Caroline’s face. 

Caroline became totally flustered at his actions. “Knock it off!” 

She glanced at Edith, who was chuckling at them, and greeted awkwardly, “Hello, Ms. Carter. I’m 

Caroline. You can just call me Carrie.” 

Edith covered her mouth and said with a smile, “Oh no, I couldn’t. I’ll just call you ‘madam‘.” 

In fact, Edith wasn’t a housekeeper Kirk had hired for one thousand dollars a month. Instead, she 

was a full–time household manager that Kirk specially transferred over from abroad. 

In addition to cooking and cleaning, she also had to improve the furnishings in the villa so that 

the owners could enjoy a warm and harmonious atmosphere at all times. 

Her work would help them properly regulate their physical and mental states. So her monthly
