"Yes, I must collect more enlightening marks from others!" Ricky murmured as he put the mark on his left shoulder and the mark was immediately sucked into his body. An evil smile crept onto his lips because he obviously had a plan on how to get more marks.
He was really enjoying the game in a strange way, though it was cruel. A strong warrior was born to fight, after all. Ricky felt that his every nerve was delivering a message to him that said he must do something impressive in the Small World he was in. Despite the fact that he liked the hunting game, Ricky still had his own principles. He would never hurt the people or beasts badly, or try to kill them. He only needed to take away their enlightening marks to win.
He would not feel guilty for stealing or robbing from others to get the marks. The rules were set by the Oriental College, after all. He could not object to it or even break any of the rules. As a matter of fact, he was quite merciful for the fact that he had decided not to kill his opponents.
Some other warriors or beasts would do worse. They would not only take away other people's enlightening marks, but they would also snatch everything they had before butchering them.
Ricky was not a blindly kind-hearted man, though. If those warriors or beasts refused to give him their marks, he would make them hand their marks over by defeating them.
Taking a deep breath, Ricky walked in the direction that he had felt there might be other warriors or beasts without any hesitation. There was determination in his eyes as he went.
At the same time, he kept himself on high alert because he was well aware that he might be killed at any time, if he was distracted for even just one second. He was probably the only demi-immortal in that place. Being surrounded by all those spiritual kings was very dangerous, especially when they were harboring evil intentions.
When the war began on the battlefields, many disciples of the Oriental College stood at the entrances of the battlefields, on the other hand. They, of course, did not care about the recruitment competition. All they cared about was Ricky because he was a peerless genius.
People could see the events happening inside the battlefields from the entrances. All the disciples out there were staring at Ricky.
"What they said is right! A demi-immortal is on a spiritual king battlefield!" a disciple said in surprise. "Is he really a peerless genius?"
There was an obvious hint of suspicion in his voice. Everyone, then, turned their eyes to look at the Heavenly Ape Demi-spiritual Emperor and the other two completed spiritual kings. They wanted to know the answer too.
"Just be patient and watch. You will see whether he is a peerless genius or not soon," the Heavenly Ape Demi-spiritual Emperor suggested with a smile. He did not reply to them with an affirmative answer because he knew that the young disciples would still doubt it even if he said yes. They wouldn't truly believe that Ricky was a peerless genius until they witnessed his abilities first hand.
In the Small World, which was also the spiritual king battlefield, two figures were standing somewhere in a valley. They stared at each other, a few yards between them. One of them was none other than Ricky. He had just met his first opponent in that world.
The man he was up against was a young man wearing black clothes. He had an ordinary face that was not very impressive. From the aura he was releasing, Ricky could tell that he must be a third-class lower spiritual king.
Ricky would have actually run away if he were not facing a third-class lower spiritual king. He knew it might be difficult for him to deal with someone stronger than the man standing in front of him.
"Nice to meet you. My name is York He. I never expected that you would be the first person I met here. I'm so lucky, yet also so unlucky," York He greeted Ricky in a helpless voice as he stared at Ricky in apprehension.
"Oh? Please, tell me more. Why are you so lucky, yet also unlucky to meet me?" Ricky asked in curiosity.
"I'm lucky because I don't think you are very strong. You are still a demi-immortal, though you are a peerless genius," York He replied. "I'm unlucky because you are still a peerless genius.
Even if you fail here, I'm sure many strong organizations will still want to invite you to be a member of them. It's just a matter of time before you become stronger. If I defeat you today, I will be your enemy, and I know you will come after me sooner or later."
"Oh, I understand what you mean," Ricky said as he nodded his head. "Now that you are confident that you are able to defeat me, why don't you just kill me? You will not need to worry about all that if I am dead."
"You know what, dude? I did think about that before," York He said. "But I saw the fight between you and Baron. I know that you are quite capable for the time being. I can defeat you, but I am not strong enough to kill you.
If I really do defeat you here, hopefully you will not be so narrowed-minded as to hunt me down in the future. There is also another possibility, though—if you are killed by others later, I won't have to be worried that you will take revenge on me anymore."
"Ha-ha! You are a very frank man," Ricky responded as he smiled. "What you said does make sense, but there is one thing I'd like to correct you about. You are being over-confident in yourself. So, are you really sure that you can defeat me?"
Boom! Boom! Before Ricky's voice faced, his aura burst out from his body all of a sudden. Golden lights were shining brightly from within him. He had just activated his method—the Nine-degree Body Refining Formula—to its limit. Meanwhile, three types of runic power were emitting from him.
