Gavin finished eating tomatoes and egg noodles without saying a word. I waited expectantly for his praise. I figured this guy was used to big feasts, so such a simple thing should not surprise him. But he said nothing from start to finish, even after the bowl of noodles was completely eaten.
Seeing him putting down his chopsticks, I couldn't help but ask, "How is it?"
Gavin replied thoughtfully, "It's not bad."
"Hum, Mr. Stone, if you do not like it, you can say so directly. Do not worry, I will not make the same mistake in the future."
Gavin said, "You owe me so much. Should I be touched when I eat your noodles?"
He was always said things that I had no right to rebut, "No. You don' have too of course. I promise to repay you kindness until I die."
"You don't have to die for me, just be loyal to me."
After we talked for a while, Gavin helped me wash the dishes. Too many things happened today. I was so shocked that I could not keep up.
Before Gavin left, I said, "By the way, your necklace is still with me. Wait a minute, I'll get it."
Gavin said, "That's not necessary. Since I've already given it to you, keep it."
"How can I do that? It's precious. You cannot keep her, but you can keep her jewelry."
Of course, Gavin understood what I meant. He looked back at me meaningfully and said, "She's gone. What's the point of keeping her jewelry?"
"It's not like that..." I tried to say.
