Chapter 46 Use My Bathroom
Rejoyla was shocked. "Ms. Yvett, I'm sorry. Give me another chance. Please don't fire me. I will really change!"
It never rained but it poured. If she lost her job, it would only strengthen Jacquelyn's determination to marry her off to Elvis. Rejoyla begged for mercy, not understanding why she was suddenly being fired. She worked diligently and had no other issues besides the minor problem of being occasionally late. What had she done to offend Molly?
Molly's stern face remained expressionless, and her tone was flat. "Starting today, you will be transferred to the assistant's office. Now, pack up your things and leave immediately."
Molly left quickly, ignoring Rejoyla's cries behind her.
Rejoyla scratched her head, not understanding why she was being transferred to the assistant's office. But since Molly had said so, she'd better pack up her things quickly so that they wouldn't be thrown out later.
By the time Rejoyla arrived at the assistant's office with her cardboard box, an hour had passed. The people in the office took several steps back when they saw her, making her confused. But she greeted them with a smile. "Hello, my name is Rejoyla. I was just transferred here from the finance department. I'm so happy to meet you guys."
No one said anything, and Rejoyla was a little embarrassed. She took a few steps forward to speak again, but the people in front of her quickly stepped back. One girl wearing Prada and delicate makeup frowned in disgust. "Don't come near me. What's that smell? It's so disgusting. How did someone like you get transferred to our assistant's office? Don't you ever shower? Ugh, it's so gross!"
Rejoyla's smile froze, and she discreetly sniffed herself. Well, she didn't smell anything.
"Really? Am I really that smelly?"
Oh, right. She hadn't showered that morning because she had no time. Perhaps she caught the smell of the stinky grass last night. No wonder the people in the finance department had been ignoring her. She thought her character couldn't be that bad. She wasn't even fired from the company, but she couldn't even find a helping hand. It must be because she smelled too bad.
She felt embarrassed and blamed Jason. She just didn't want him to take advantage of her last night, or she wouldn't have been so ashamed now.
"Um, sorry. I spilled a bottle of essential oil last night and forgot to clean it up this morning."
"Who are you trying to fool? Essential oils don't really stink. Are you treating us like a country bumpkin like you? Essential oils? Do you even have the money to buy essential oils?" The girl in Prada sneered and pulled out a bottle of Chanel perfume to spray around the room. Rejoyla recognized the brand because Jacquelyn loved to use it.
Seeing that Rejoyla stared at the perfume in her hand, the girl in Prada shook the small bottle proudly and mocked her. "What are you looking at? Your monthly salary can't even afford one bottle of my perfume. Bumpkin, I warn you not to be greedy for money. If you dare to steal it, I will make sure you spend your life in prison!"
The girl in Prada glanced at Rejoyla's clothes, and a trace of disdain flashed through her eyes. She couldn't understand how this poor girl could work in the assistant's office. She was supposed to be the only girl in the office, but now that there was another one, which would ruin her advantage. She had to find a way to drive away Rejoyla. But why was Rejoyla arranged to work here? They didn't need a helper in the assistant's office.
Rejoyla squinted her eyes. She didn't argue with the girl in Prada, but it was not because she was afraid of the girl, but because she had indeed caused trouble for everyone. That was why she didn't mind the girl's disdainful tone. But that didn't mean she would tolerate being bullied repeatedly. If she let the girl Prada think she was an easy target, it would only lead to more trouble in the future.
Rejoyla took a deep breath and was about to speak when the door opened again. To her surprise, Brady walked in.
The assistant's office was just outside the CEO's office, so they could see Brady as long as he passed by. It was also convenient for the assistants to serve the CEO!
Brady's eyes lit up when he saw Rejoyla, and he nodded at her as if nothing happened. But in his mind, he couldn't help but think of the scene from yesterday, and his heart was beating fast.
But wait, was it his imagination? What was it? Why did it smell so bad?
Rejoyla moved back a little, hoping not to offend the CEO with her smell.
"Mr. Nelson!" Everyone greeted Brady.
Brady nodded and walked slowly to Rejoyla. "What... is that smell? Did the cleaning crew not come yesterday?"
Brady originally wanted to talk to Rejoyla, get closer to her, and leave a good impression on her, but the bad smell made him change his mind. What was going on? Would Rejoyla think that he was a man who paid no attention to hygiene?
Rejoyla blushed. The girl in Prada giggled and said, "Mr. Nelson, it's Miss Lynn's smell. You've wronged the cleaning staff. They clean every day!"
