Bella’s POV:

My mind went blank, and I was in a daze.

“Bella, don’t be like this. I’m very worried about you.”

I turned to look at Joey blankly and said, “This morning, he left a message saying that he would

hange in just a few hours? Why did he do that? What the hell is going on?”

Joey lowered her eyes and remained silent for a moment. Then, she said, “Wake up, Bella. Maybe we were wrong from the very beginning. We thought that Herbert would fall in love with you and cherish you. But in fact, we forgot our identities. We are all commoners. Even if a rich man like Herbert has a good impression of a commoner, he will only play with her feelings. He won’t really get married with her!”

I don’t believe it’s true. There must be a reason!” Joey wiped my tears with a tissue. “What do you want to do?” “I want to ask him personally. I have to know what happened!” I said stubbornly.

Joey replied, “Herbert is not in the company now. He should be with Caroline. Why don’t I go with you to find him and see what he’s going to say?” “Thank you, Joey.” I nodded.

Joey sighed. “You’re my best friend. There’s no need to thank me. I’ll go with you!” “You’re the best, Joey.” I held Joey’s hand tightly. Then, I took out my cell phone, hesitated for a moment, and dialed Herbert’s number. Ring… Ring… The phone rang for more than a dozen times. When I was about to hang up, the phone was connected.
