In the Huo family’s mansion.
Susan refused to eat any as she was lying on her bed and pouting.
Qu Zhirong coaxed, "you haven’t had anything all the day. Have something now!”
Susan frowned and stayed still in the bed.
"Susan, come on, eat some!” Qu Zhirong coaxed again.
Susan pushed back her quilt and stood up, "I don’t wanna eat. I’m full!”
Then, she looked at the television.
Qu Zhirong knew that Susan was in a sulk.
"Well, though you’re angry, you have to eat food. It’s you who are gonna suffer, not others. If you don’t eat food. Now, have some!” Qu Zhirong advised and pushed the food forward.
Susan heard her words but frowned and thought for a while.
"Have some food now.” Qu Zhirong pushed food forward again when she felt that Susan was a little moved.
Susan pouted and was ready to hold the bowl of rice in the hand of Qu Zhirong. But she stunned suddenly and shocked at the same time.
"God! Is it...it...”
Qu Zhirong saw Susan so dismayed that she could not help but follow the eyes of Susan to see the television.
The TV was reporting a news about a corpse.
"That’s, that’s Mary Yun!” Susan covered mouth immediately, "how, how could she die!”
Qu Zhirong looked at the TV and seemed nothing happened.
Hurriedly, Susan grabbed the arms of Qu Zhirong, "Aunt, is it... brother Michael...he let people...”
"Shut up!” Qu Zhirong yelled coldly, "Bullshit. She died. She was killed by the enemy!”
Susan shrank her neck and dared not to speak.
"Mary Yun was so useless. What a waste of money!” Qu Zhirong frowned, "She said she was going to kill Linda Yun. But see what she did! She’s dead for her foolishness!”
"Aunt, is brother Michael would suspect us?”
"Why? We didn’t harm his wife!” Qu Zhirong looked unhappily.
"Well, aunt... shall we go to her funeral? After all, she was brought out of mental hospital by us...” Susan was kind of afraid.
Qu Zhirong looked at her, "Funeral? Do you think we are not suspicious enough?” Then she sneered, "These evils we bring to ourselves are the hardest to bear. She caused it all by herself!”
Susan did not speak anymore, nor did she know what to say.
"Susan, hear me, too much kindness will only make you far away from success,” with staring at Susan, she added, "necessary viciousness can last longer!”
Susan frowned with somewhat bewildered.
Feeling the innocence of Susan, Qu Zhirong could not help saying, "well, you eat first. Do not care about the matter!” Then she handed Susan the meal again.
Susan took the meal and ate it silently.
Qu Zhirong looked at Susan’s neck. The red mark was so obvious that she could not help frowning, "That woman was really vicious. She pinched your neck so hard!”
Susan stunned and looked up at Qu Zhirong unhappily, "She was cruel, not vicious. Her eyes were so terrible as if she wanna kill me at any time...” Later on, she sobbed, "Am I going to be killed by her? God! I’m scared!”
Qu Zhirong grabbed her hand to comfort Susan immediately, "it’s nonsense. I’m here. And your uncle assured you that no one would hurt you, OK?”
Susan looked at her and whispered with red eyes, "I already have no relatives. If aunt doesn’t wanna stay with me...what should I do? Jesus! Brother Michael doesn’t like me, and he wants to drive me away...”
"Bullshit!” Qu Zhirong frowned, "Dare he drive you away when I’m here!”
Then, she sighed, "Susan, otherwise, you give up Ah Chen!”
Susan looked at Qu Zhirong in dismay, and asked in a trembling voice, "Aunt, you, you let me give up brother Michael?”
Qu Zhirong looked at her and sighed lightly, "For the past three years, we have made a lot of efforts. But you knew the feeling of Ah Chen. Susan, you are young, and your youth is waiting for you. In this life, though you cannot be my daughter-in-law, you can still be my daughter. From then on, you’re my foster daughter. OK?”
Qu Zhirong thought all over the last night.
Maybe it’s time that she should stop persisting.
What she wanted was simple. She just hoped that Susan could live a happy life.
But if her persistence not only did not help Susan, but hurt her son, she wanna give it up though she didn’t like David Huo.
That day, the look of Michael and the despair of her daughter in the hospital deeply moved her.
"No. I don’t wanna be your foster daughter. I wanna marry brother Michael. You promised me!” Susan suddenly hit the food on the ground, and the whole person lost control to shout.
Qu Zhirong patiently soothed, "Didn’t you tell me last time that if Ah Chen didn’t accept you all the time, you would give up. Susan, now give up, and go abroad for further study. I’ll go with you. OK?”
"No!” Susan quickly refused, "You don’t know that she wanna kill me. Though I give up now, can I be safe? It’s impossible!”
"Relax, Susan. Calm down!”
"No no no. All of you don’t wanna me. My mom, my dad, brother Michael, now, aunt, you don’t wanna me, God...” Then, Susan quickly lying down, covered herself with a quilt and cried heavily.
Qu Zhirong was distressed and helpless, "Susan, it’s nonsense. I love you the most forever. As for you and Ah Chen...”
At the time, Qu Zhirong didn’t know how to soothe Susan.
But she knew that forced love does not last.
Susan was out of control, "Get out. You get out. I don’t wanna talk to you. Don’t!”
Feeling the hysteria of Susan, Qu Zhirong had to say, "All right. I’m out. You calm down first. I’ll see you later.”
Then she stood up and left with the door gently closed.
After several-minute sobbing of grief, Susan calmed down.
Slowly, she lifted the quilt to stand up.
