Can't Let Go novel Chapter 213

“Nancy...” Laura, sitting beside her, reached out her hand and touched hers, saying, “What’s the matter? Is everything okay?”

Nancy Xi took a glance at those who cast a concerned look at her. And she turned furious when she noticed the sinner was having his dinner leisurely by the table.

“Well, I’m fine, I just bit my tongue...” She gave an awkward smile and tapped Laura’s hand to show that she’s okay.

Then she slowly sat down.

Apparently, she moved the chair a little bit backward.

“Aunt, you’re really good at cooking! You eat more, you’re too thin.” Laura took some food to her and beamed.

On seeing her lovely smiley face, Nancy Xi ‘s rage faded away.

But she was still bearing extremely hatred toward the man sitting right in front of her.

“Okay. You, you also have more.” After Nancy was given a fried chicken leg, she started to chew some with her head lowered.

Nancy’s parents were really fond of Laura that they chatted with her all the time during the meal.

Besides, her mother really felt sorry for her because of her past.

40 minutes later.

The dinner was over.

“It’s still early for you to go to bed. You two sweethearts have a rest and I’ll prepare some dessert for you.” Nancy’s mother smiled and headed to the kitchen.

“Aunt, well, I’m full.” Laura hurried to say with her eyebrows slightly twisted.

For her belly was stuffed with food that there was no room for extra sweets or drinks.

Nancy Xi took her hand and traipsed to the garden with Laura, “That’s okay. You can bring what you can’t have home. My mother seldom makes desserts, which will be incredibly delicious if prepared by her.

Laura held Nancy’s arm and giggled, “Wow, Nancy, that’s awesome! I’ve never tasted my mother’s food.”

“Just come to my home when you wanna have a bite of home-made dishes. See, my mother is really fond of you!” Nancy Xi was glad that her mom liked Laura, which meant that this was a true friend of hers.

Laura’s face flushed.

Nancy Xi led her and they both sat on the hammock.

Both of them looked up at the night sky.

The full moon was stunning beautiful tonight, which was like beaming silently to them from above.

“Nancy, do you think there’s really a goddess of the moon?”

Nancy stared at the moon, pondered for a while and replied, “I guess there is.”

“But why she didn’t allow Hou Yi to become a celestial being? Is she happy to be immortal when her lover is not around?” She looked to Nancy and asked. (Hou Yi: a celestial archer in ancient Chinese legend.)

Nancy Xi was suddenly stuck.

Then she moved her lips and slowly replied, “If it was me, I would wanna be a celestial being.”

“Ah?” Laura was greatly surprised, “Why? Don’t you wanna have a man who you love? Why you have to be all alone?”

Nancy Xi chuckled and pitched her soft cheek, “Little fool, you can’t have the best of the both worlds, okay? I don’t have more desire in this life, so I only wish I could get away like the goddess of the moon.”

It was her dream to leave this place and this devious man.

“Well, well, well.” out of a sudden, someone was snorting from their behind, “My dear sister, where are you going?”

Laura was stuck that she looked back terrified and she spotted that Walter Nan was walking toward them.

Nancy was then all as petrified as a statue.

“Brother!” Laura stood up and exclaimed.

Walter Nan didn’t response her but looked to Nancy Xi with a strange sneer, saying, “Nancy, where are you going?”

Nancy was scared to death after being enquired like this.

she stood up slowly with her lips twitched for a moment. Then she cast a glance at his unpredictable face and smiled awkwardly, “Well... I, I and Laura were talking about college... like what are we are going do after graduation... I mean, I’ll grow up one day! I’ll leave and live my own life sooner or later!”

“Yeah, that’s right. You’re going to leave this family after you get married!” Laura held Nancy’s hand and slightly giggled for didn’t read this different atmosphere right now.

“Get married?” Walter Nan frowned and repeated these two words again.

“Of course, after we grow up. We all get married. So, are you, brother? You’re going to have a wife one day!” She uttered in a sweet voice.

“Em!” Walter Nan nodded and replied with one eyebrow raised, “You’re absolutely correct! All men and women will have their partners one day. I do have to consider getting a wife!”

“Really?” Nancy Xi asked without any hesitation,

which betrayed her excitement.

Staring at her sanguine look, he put on even more coldness in his eyes and moved his lips, “You wish me to be married this soon? Um, you’re not the kind of ordinary girls who never want their brothers to married someone for they cannot receive enough love after that. So, you truly resist me caring for you?”

His words were obviously sarcastic.

“You don’t have to.” Nancy Xi hurried to reply him. “It will be a great thing for you to get married. You see, others already have their nieces or nephews, but I haven’t. There’s no need to concern about me, just get married, brother!”

Nancy Xi just failed to belie her intention at this moment.

She put on a slightly beaming face and bore some glints in her previously fishy eyes.

But Laura was a little bit confused.

When she realized what was going on, she thought,

Nancy and her brother really had an intimate relationship!

For the affection they shared had been rooting deeply in their hearts that couldn’t be pretended.

Suddenly, Walter Nan withdrew his smile. What’s worse, a vein was protruding clearly on his forehead.

Nancy was stuck and had no idea how to response. Well...

What, what was this?

Was, was he pissed off?

Did she say something that offend him?

“Miss! Young master! Madame said that the dessert was prepared.”

So, Nancy grabbed Laura’s hand and dashed toward the dining room, “Here we come! Here we come!”

“Miss Su, someone is here to pick you home.” A maid came in and said.

“Em? Okay!” Laura picked up her things, stood up and took a bow, “Thank you! The food was really delicious! I had a great day!”
