Can't Let Go novel Chapter 44

  Mrs. Huo...

What on earth was he talking about?

  Was he crazy?

Michael Huo's smile showed he was very satisfied with the horror and surprise in her eyes.

With a clicking sound, the door was opened with a key.

Linda Yun subconsciously reached out her hands and pushed them against the man's chest violently.

Michael Huo grabbed her hands, and pressed them against his chest, "Are you being terrified?"

The bright eyes of Linda Yun became alarmed and bewildered at this moment. She subconsciously looked at the doorway.

  The door was opened!

  The man stood up slowly.

Both the nurse and Mary Yun were stunned

"Mr...Mr. Huo, I didn't know you were here." Without knowing why, the nurse was dripping with cold sweat.

Had the door of the ward locked by Mr. Huo himself?

The lips of Mary Yun trembled slightly. She looked at Michael Huo who stood beside Linda Yun's bed with a faint smile on his face.

She should somehow feel a little flustered.

Why would they lock the door?

What had happened to them just now inside the ward?

The nurse realized the wierd atmosphere, so she immediately closed the door and left.

Linda Yun turned her face aside, and looked out of the window.

Her eyebrows were tightly twisted. She couldn't understand the man's behavior just now.

Indeed, she was setting him up.

The instant she returned to Yun's mansion, she didn't know whether Huo Tingzhen was there.

But she knew James Yun would never listen to her.

The man had always been egocentric,

while her open opposition would surely meet with torture.

Therefore, she was making a bet

on the question raised by Michael Huo on the islet.

Therefore, she sent him a message, "Will tigers eat their cubs?"

If he really wanted to know the answer, he would surely come to investigate.

But she was not completely sure.

Yet she was not so stupid as to really be beaten to death by James Yun.

  If he hadn't come,

then, she could still manage to put out the raging fire in James Yun.

  But, as a last resort...

She would not turn to it so easily!

"Ting...Tingchen..." Mary Yun was in a trance for seconds, and then she called out the name of her beloved man with a trembling voice.

"You are here?" The man replied faintly. He walked over to the sofa, and then sat down.

Mary Yun slightly knitted her eyebrows, and she became a little cautious.

Then, she hastened to walk up to Linda Yun, and inquired with great concern, "Nian, how are you doing?"

On hearing the voice, Linda Yun turned around and looked at her. She grinned, "I'm not going to die!"

Mary Yun's smile was a little rigid, "Nian, Dad knows he is wrong. He regrets it. He says he shouldn't have been so impulsive. Don't blame him..."

With it, he handed her a cellphone.

"Look, these messages are from Dad."

Linda Yun read the messages from her cellphone, and the corner of her mouth was upturned even more.

"Go back and tell Dad I know he is doing these for my sake. I am not mad, nor will I be mad in the future any more. After all, he is still my "father", isn't he?"

On seeing this, the corner of Mary Yun's mouth was slightly twitched. She became even more furious on staring at Linda Yun who was so arrogant.

"Nian, tell me whatever you need. Dad is in poor health. It is not convenient for him to come at such a late hour, either. Whatever you need, please go ahead and tell me!"

On seeing this, Linda Yun raised her eyebrows, "Really? I happen to feel a little hungry. Buy me some congee, sister."

"What?" Mary Yun was dumbstruck, "Buy what?"

"I'm starving, and I want to have some congee." She looked at her with a bright smile.

Mary Yun twisted her eyebrows. She was just saying it for fun.

Would she really want her to buy it?

But Michael Huo was sitting on the sofa behind, so she daren't blow her top randomly.

"I'm a stranger to this place. Why not order some takeout food?" Mary Yun said while turning on her cellphone.

Linda Yun didn't speak, nor did she refuse, leaving her to order.

Soon, Mary Yun ped her cellphone, "I've ordered some congee for you, it will be sent here soon."

On hearing it, she nodded. Presently, she looked at Mary Yun with a chuckle, "Thanks for coming to visit me, sister. By the way, I'd like to thank my brother-in-law as well for sending me here. Well, I need a break. You can go back now."

She didn't want to pay any attention to Mary Yun, nor did she want to talk to Michael Huo.

  Mary Yun annoyed her.

  Michael Huo scared her.

"Ah? You are sending us away now?" Mary Yun was a little surprised. She believed Linda Yun must be up to some trick.

Linda Yun laughed,"Of course. Look, there's nothing wrong with me. Countrymen are sturdy. I can be discharged from hospital tomorrow. Didn't you just order some food for me? Now you can go back. I need a break!"

On seeing this, Mary Yun finally wore a smile that seemed to be saying, "Thank goodness, there is still some sense left in you.

She turned around and looked at Michael Huo. She was immediately struck dumb.

He was sitting there with a calm look. But his eyes were as deep as an ocean of stars, and nobody could see through what was on his mind now.

But it made others dare not interrupt him casually without reason.

Linda Yun didn't feel like paying attention to them. She lay down, and covered herself in quilts.

Such a posture of keeping herself out of the affair did strike a line for herself.

Michael Huo curved his lips and then stood up.

"I'll take you back." The man cuddled Mary Yun's shoulder at once, and took her outside.

  The door was quietly closed.

Linda Yun lifted her quilt, and stuck out her tongue, "Scumbag!"

Then, she hastened to put on her shoes, and got off the bed.

She wanted to visit Kui. She wondered whether Kui had come to yet.

The messages Mary Yun showed her just now weren't about James Yun's apology at all.

They were his promises for her and the Fangs.

  She wasn't hurt in vain.

  "Tingchen..."

She walked out of the ward.

Without knowing why, she felt that even though his arms were around her, his hands still felt so cold.

He had an aloofness all over him that kept people at a distance.

"Well?" Michael Huo looked at her, and his eyes showed no changes in mood.

The corner of Mary Yun's mouth twitched slightly, and then she shook her head, "No..nothing..."

She might well be too tired and thinking too much.

If he had really been indifferent, he shouldn't have put her in his arms...

"Next Wednesday is my mums birthday; bring your 'whole family' to her birthday party, will you?" The man stressed the words, whole family, and reminded her.

Mary Yun said hastily, "Right, look, how busy I was during these days. I have almost forgotten aunties birthday. Don't worry. I'll surely give her a surprise."

This was not the first time she celebrated Qu Zhirong's birthday during these years.

  She understood Mrs. Qu's preferences.

It was just Linda Yun's visit made her almost have forgetten about this important thing.

I'll ask my driver to take you back, and I still have some business to attend to. Michael Huo said while waving his hand, asking the driver to take her back.

"What are you going to do?" Mary Yun asked subconsciously.
