When Jasper and Alyssa got home, Jasper received a call from Xavier. Then, he went to the study to get some work done.

"Mr. Beckett, the foundation's matters are pretty much all set. You'll just need to pick a date for the official announcement."

"Alright. Thanks." Jasper's voice sounded low and a little weary.

"Also, weren't you planning to bring Madam to Swizo for a holiday? I've made preparations for a manor there. It's right at the foot of the Alton Mountains. The scenery there is fantastic. You and Madam can head over there any time," Xavier said in a jolly tone.

He had been feeling elated since they defeated Sophia. Every day, he was so happy that he'd be smiling in his sleep.

However, Jasper still didn't respond after a while. He wasn't paying attention. He was still thinking about his conversation with Justin earlier that night. He was also bothered by how Justin had looked at Alyssa.

Jasper felt his chest tighten. The look in his eyes was deep.

"Mr. Beckett? Mr. Beckett? Did you doze off?"

Jasper jolted back to his senses. "What were you saying?"

"I was saying that I've made arrangements at Swizo. You can bring Madam for a vacation there any time."

Concerned, Xavier asked, "What happened, Mr. Beckett? You sound weak. Are you feeling unwell?"

"Xavier, I spoke to Justin earlier tonight. He's also met Lyse." Jasper massaged his temples. He was feeling disconcerted.

"What?" Xavier couldn't help but exclaim. He simply blurted, "What the hell? What were you thinking?"

Jasper was too distressed to reprimand him for his language. He explained, "We were on a video call. Lyse and Grandpa were around, too. Justin said that he wanted to see her. I didn't think too much about it. It wasn't nice to reject him either."

"You let him speak with her just because he said so? Are you going to give in to everything he says? Mr. Beckett! You're usually an intelligent person. You're as smart as a whip! Why did you become so senseless in the face of Mr. Justin?"

Xavier was so anxious that he just rambled on. "That incident that happened when you were kids… It was an accident! An accident! What happened to Mr. Justin was terrible. But you were also a victim. You almost lost your life too!

"It's fine if you feel grateful toward him. However, you shouldn't need to feel like you owe it to him forever! You don't need to give in to his every demand!"
