Jasper smiled slightly at Jason as he got into the car. He extended his hand first.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Derullere."

"Nice to meet you too, Mr. Beckett."

Jason shook Jasper's hand. Jasper's strength and composure eased Jason's nervousness.

"Please forgive my bluntness, Mr. Beckett. I am a lawyer for Schmidt Group. Meeting me privately like this… Isn't it inappropriate?" Jason was both stating a fact and testing him at the same time.

"While we may be on opposing sides," Jasper explained seriously, "I share your deep grudge against Jameson. However, I've always believed the guilty should be held accountable. I'm a fair man and won't target the innocent."

"Moreover," Jasper continued, his posture unwavering, "I have a feeling we're not enemies, but rather friends on opposite sides."

"Friends…" Jason's eyes welled up. He couldn't believe his ears.

"Since you risked meeting me," Jasper's gentle voice resonated with Jason, "I believe you acknowledge me as an ally. Am I right, Mr. Derullere?"

Upon hearing that, Jason, a distinguished lawyer in his 50s, burst into tears in front of Jasper.

"I can't take it anymore, Mr. Beckett!" he cried out. "Working for Jameson another day is unbearable. We're not even human to him, just expendable pawns!

"Mr. Victor, though flawed, cared for me and my family. But since his passing, Jameson has my partner and son under constant surveillance. He knows my loyalty to Mr. Victor and uses their safety to control me. Betrayal would mean their lives are in danger. It's a despicable strategy!"

Jasper frowned when he heard Jason's laments. Xavier, on the other hand, sighed in exasperation.

"Schmidt Group is a façade for Jameson's illegal activities," Jason continued. "He's involved in smuggling, drug trafficking, and various criminal enterprises. He's lawless! He even asked me to tamper with Mr. Victor's will."

Jasper's gaze darkened. "What about the will?"

"Anticipating his health decline, Mr. Victor had me witness him writing his will. He left nothing to Jameson, neither control of Schmidt Group nor any family assets." Jason's anger was evident. "Jameson seized everything by force!"
