Capturing the Millionaire’s Heart on Divorce Day novel Chapter 124

Chapter 0124

Evel scanned the surroundings, her eyes hunting for anyone suspicious.

From the moment they left, Evel had been on high alert, but in such a crowded place, it was challenging to pinpoint the stalker’s location. immediately.

Noticing her grave expression, Madison subtly shifted her chair closer to Ethan.

Ethan’s gaze dropped, and his brows arched in question. “What’s wrong?”

Madison returned a disarming smile. “Nothing, I just wanted to be closer to you.”

While she maintained a relaxed facade, part of her focus was now on their surroundings.

If they were being followed, it was likely either by the paparazzi or

someone intent on sabotage.

Madison wasn’t naive; she understood the stakes and suspected the the target was probably Ethan.

Evel, not drawing any attention to herself, mentioned she was heading to the restroom.

She ambled off alone.

After a short while, Ethan picked up his phone. “I need to make a call. You keep eating.”

Madison frowned, instinctively wanting to accompany him, but Ethan was already stepping outside.

Once Evel had left, Madison’s appetite had vanished, and she decided to wait for Ethan to finish his call so they could leave.

About four or five minutes later, Ethan returned.

His attire was notably out of place in the modestly decorated eatery,

drawing eyes.

Some patrons seemed to have recognized him, and they were

sneakily taking photos with their phones-a fact Ethan was aware of but chose not to confront.

“Why aren’t you eating?” Ethan sat back down, noticing her lack of appetite. “Not feeling well?”

Madison hesitated before replying. “There are too many people. I’m worried someone might recognize you and cause a jam. Maybe we should go somewhere else?”

She suggested diplomatically.

Ethan chuckled, picked up a skewer she favored, cleaned the end of the stick, and handed it to her. “Eat up, take your time. Don’t think about anything else.”

Though puzzled, Madison accepted the skewer.

Jessica and Amelia, meanwhile, ate joyously, laughing and chatting

carelessly.

To prevent Ethan from worrying, Madison sped up her eating but

didn’t consume much.

“I’m full now. Let’s go.”

“Really full?” Ethan’s leisurely posture didn’t waver.

Madison nodded vigorously, hoping he would see her sincerity.

Ethan finally stood up, one hand holding his phone, the other taking

hers, and they headed outside.

Facing the greeting crowd, Ethan, surprisingly, waved openly. “Hello everyone.”

The crowd, taken aback by his friendliness, responded, “President Grant, have a good evening.”

Ethan smiled graciously. “Enjoy your meal.”

As they approached the car.

Ethan unexpectedly opened the door to the car behind them. “You take this one.”

“What’s wrong?” Madison’s heart raced.

Ethan ushered her into the car. “You go on ahead. I have something to take care of.”

After helping Madison in, Ethan turned and walked to the lead car, Michael and Evel following.

Just as the car door was about to close, an arm suddenly appeare

Madison winced in pain but didn’t retract her arm.

Inside, amidst the astonished glances of the others, she squeezed in.

Thankfully, the rear center console was retracted; otherwise, there

wouldn’t be room for three.

Madison shut the car door. “Let’s go ”

Evel sat in the passenger seat, the driver started the vehicle.

Between Michael and Madison, there was Ethan.

Now, his expression changed. “Madison, you’re disobeying.”

Her gaze sharpened. “Who’s disobeying?”

Watching her defiant face, Ethan suddenly pulled her into his embrace. “Drive!”

Since they were coming from Mukino’s expanse, Ethan had not asked

for a security detail, especially with Evel around.

But he had never anticipated their pursuers would be so bold to

follow them all the way.

If Madison hadn’t been with him, he might have stopped the car on the way to ‘greet’ their tail.

The vicinity of the flight academy meant a long stretch of road was unusually quiet, sparsely populated, and not very lively.

When the car plunged into a tunnel, Michael said, “Those cars are speeding up.”

“Did Jessica and the others get away?” Ethan asked.

Michael replied, “Sent them a message on WeChat. They didn’t follow. I’ve contacted people, they’re on their way from all directions.”

Being the Chairman of Mukino International meant Ethan wasn’t

to be alone.

And today…

It wasn’t a coincidence but deliberate targeting of their movements

Whether the target was Ethan or Madison, nobody was sure.

“Turn left, now!” Michael suddenly shouted.

The driver was already aware of the three cars tailing them, with one attempting to ram into them.

The assailants were reckless, forcing them to evade timidly.

Madison, pinned in Ethan’s embrace only felt a series of heavy

impacts.
