Amelia limped back to her abode, her mind working overtime on what to do next.
Surely, she couldn't just knock on someone's door, could she?
Knocking…
A lightbulb went off in Amelia's head.
-
The next morning, at nine.
Before heading to the company, Amelia dressed herself meticulously: a uniform underneath, topped with a stylish wool coat, exuding elegance and charm.
"Ding-dong—"
Qin Hualin didn't have many engagements for the day, so he was still home when the doorbell rang. Fastening his watch, he went to answer it.
To his surprise, the woman outside left him momentarily speechless.
"Hello, I'm from across the hall. It was you who helped me up last night. I've brought a small token of appreciation. Hope I'm not intruding?"
Amelia presented a cherished gift she had received from Madison.
Qin Hualin's gaze swept over the uniform beneath Madison's coat, then settled on the gift she was holding.
After a few seconds of silence, Qin Hualin stepped aside, "Not at all."
Amelia hadn't anticipated an invite inside and was elated.
Once inside, her eyes quickly scanned the space.
Hmm, no trace of a female presence and no ring on his finger; could he be single?
Qin Hualin politely poured Amelia a cup of hot water, "The help last night doesn't warrant a special visit."
"It was necessary. Besides, we’re neighbors, might as well become friends, right?" Amelia spoke with her ever-cheerful disposition.
Both skilled in social nuances, they grasped each other's intent within a few exchanges.
Qin Hualin glanced at his watch before opening W******p, placing his phone neatly on the table.
Amelia's heart skipped a beat at the sight.
A W******p QR code for adding new contacts.
Without hesitation, Amelia pulled out her phone, scanned the code, and added him as a friend.
After she finished, Qin Hualin said, "Now that we're connected, don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything."
"Will do!"
After a brief sit-down, they walked outside together.
Before getting into his car, Qin Hualin inquired, "Off to work?"
"Yep," Amelia replied, her eyes shining.
"Where at?"
"Mukino Airlines."
Qin Hualin gestured with his chin, "I'm heading that way, want to carpool?"
Amelia couldn't possibly refuse!!!
-
Two minutes later, Amelia was ecstatically seated in Qin Hualin's passenger seat.
However, Qin Hualin remained quiet, so Amelia sparked a conversation, "Where do you work?"
"Air China."
Amelia was taken aback.
He's actually saying?
Noting her expression, Qin Hualin asked, "Something wrong?"
"Colleagues, huh?" Amelia blinked playfully.
Qin Hualin nodded, "Seems so. What's your role?"
"Flight attendant," Amelia confessed without reservation.
"Do you have a flight today?"
"No, just my luck accompanying a klutz for retraining."
After thinking for a moment, she added, "By the way, I'm Amelia. I don't think I caught your name?"
"Qin Hualin," the man offered succinctly.
"Got it. Well, this is my stop!"
At the intersection near Mukino Airlines, Amelia disembarked and waved goodbye.
Qin Hualin nodded and drove off.
Amelia cheerfully headed to the company, occasionally glancing at Qin Hualin's F******k on W******p.
True to his persona, his profile was barren of activity, showing only the past month's content.
However, his W******p status was intriguing —
[Seize what you desire, without fear of reputation]
This guy, appearing so genteel and proper, yet his status suggested a wild, assertive stance.
Especially when Qin Hualin handed over his W******p code so readily – that gesture had punctured Amelia's girlish dreams!
