"I never did because I never needed to." David smiled bitterly; he never slept without the injection, so what could he do to be here?
Kate looked into his eyes. "Darling, are you okay?" Kate asked suddenly. She knew he was not okay, but something else was wrong with him.
David looked at her with a smile; everything was not okay until now; he got his bunny back in his arms.
He knew everything was alright, and the wound he had in his heart would heal with time.
David went to the bathroom and cleaned her face with a warm towel. He pulled her dress away from her body, and he washed her body. His lower body was on fire. It was a death sentence for him to keep his beast in his pants.
It's been so long that even Kate felt so shy that she didn't know where to keep her eyes; she felt like a teen who had never had three children.
David kept an expressionless face, washed her, and warped her in the bathrobe; he returned to the room. Since Kate liked to dry her hair naturally, he left it as it was to dry.
He took her back to the room.
David sat on the couch with Kate in his lap; he hugged her tightly as if he was protecting his life treasure with his all.
"Wifey, I missed you; I missed you so much that I thought I was going crazy," David whispered, putting his head on her chest; he heard her heartbeat and told himself everything was alright.
He should not be afraid, but fear was something he had in his life since she came into his life.
Before, he was not afraid because he had no one to treasure, but since she entered, he knew he would lose the world if he lost her.
"Darling, I missed you; every day was like a test for me; they didn't give me Daniel until he fell sick,
I was so afraid, frightened that I would never get the chance to get out of that hell; I was scared I would never see you again and our children."
Kate suddenly sobbed; only she knew how lonely she was, how much she had missed him.
How disgusted she was when that man kissed her face. How much did she despise her face? But, of course, she never could tell him that; she knew this would rip his heart. But, in this world, that is her borderline.
David's body turned stiff. He wanted to look in her eyes but was afraid he would find himself even more guilty, Kate continued because she knew he wanted to know.
"Our son didn't take the formula, yet they starved him for days, he lost so much weight, they had to keep him in emergency care with an oxygen mask,
Darling, I don't want anything else; let's just go back to our home; I want to leave this city; I don't want to be here."
Kate said she felt this city was like a curse to her because this city only knew how to snatch from her and never gave her anything. Now, this city has become a horrible nightmare for her.
David raised his head finally and looked at her; when Kate saw his tearful face, she felt something gripped her heart; she grabbed his face and kissed away his tears.
The more she kissed, the harder his tears fell. He was sobbing like a child. His eyes turned blood red, and the nerves on his face became visible; Kate knew he was holding back.
She kissed his eyes repeatedly; David had to close his eyes and feel her lips on them. "Darling, I, I did not." Kate hesitated about something, and David opened his confused eyes.
Kate felt pressured when she faced his stare; she felt a lump in her throat. "Darling, I mean that man, he didn't do anything to me; please don't find me dirty."
Kate finally said what she wanted to say long ago; she was afraid; she felt if she did not clear this matter, he might, deep down in his heartfelt conflict toward her.
When David finally understood what she wanted to say, his entire being turned cold. Instead, the air in the bedroom is filled with jealousy and unknown feelings.
He kept staring at Kate; Kate felt his stare pierce through her soul and brain; she lowered her head, feeling his silence; she thought he minded it.
"Did he touch you?" Suddenly David asked, which was a stab at Kate's heart.
She opened her mouth, but no word came out; she felt this was something she would never talk about.
Yeah, he never touched her and tried to force on her intimately, but he kissed her hand and cheeks.
But this was humiliating enough for Kate because she hated that she had to go through this, and now she felt she had hurt her husband's feelings.
"Darling, I asked you something, did he? David grabbed her face and forced her to look at him; Kate looked at him with teary eyes; she felt he would mind about this.
"He kissed me on my face and my hand." Kate raised her hand and showed it to him; when David saw her painful expression, he forgot his jealousy.
How wouldn't he feel sour? He felt his body turn sour, thinking someone else had touched his wife's face and her hand.
He didn't even allow Rose or anyone to touch her face because he felt this right belonged to him. She belonged to him, yet that mo****f***** touched her face; this was a heavy blow on him.
But everything melted when he saw her expression; he knew at the moment she hated this, and the fear just thinking if that mo****f***** had tried to do something, he would never find her alive, he knew he would lose her forever.
This thought was enough to torment him for a long time; he lived like a zombie without her; just thinking she would've ended her life frightened his soul. He barely could control himself from killing that person right at that moment.
Kate felt he was hesitant, so she tried to get away from him; when David noticed her movement, he raised his voice, "what are you doing? He asked.
