As he was preoccupied with the situation and Noah had an oxygen mask on, he didn't initially notice. However, upon closely examining Noah's face, he was struck by how full of surprises the world can be.
Could they relate this child to that person? Just thinking this, his entire body shivered in fear; what the hell was happening here?
He leaned forward and examined Noah again to confirm his suspicion. He was sure this time that the boy was identical in appearance to the man, but he couldn't recall his eye color.
"Hmm, where is the child's guardian? I want to talk to them?" Theo wanted to take this chance to talk to the person and find out about this child's origin.
The doctors David sent looked at each other and then turned their heads.
"Sorry, but if you have anything to say, you can tell us; our Miss is afraid of a stranger; she won't like it."
The doctor was very familiar with Nina's trauma, so they would not allow any man near her, even this person who was Noah's lifesaver, because it might harm Nina in another way; they would never risk their Miss mental health.
Theo regarded them with suspicion. He couldn't believe a mother wouldn't care about her son's health. It seemed like this woman was hiding something.
But he had to know who this boy was.
He glanced at Noah once more, appearing to have reached a decision. "Alright, but before I disclose all the specifics regarding this issue, I must first examine his body."
"Go ahead; we don't have any problem." The doctor had no problem.
"Okay, I need to examine his heart and blood first."
Theo already knew this boy's problem in his body, but he needed his blood to do something else; otherwise, who knows, if he missed out on this opportunity, there might not be another one.
The doctor might not know what wicked ideas were cooking inside Dr. Theo's head until something significant happened again.
Nina waited outside the cabin; she saw the door pushed open, and the man who looked homeless came out in a doctor's uniform this time; she sighed; it seemed they judged the wrong people.
Seeing the other doctor follow him out, Nina didn't go to Dr. Theo because he was a stranger to her. Instead, she went to their doctor.
"Doctor, is everything well? Where is Noah? Has he woken up?"
She wanted to ask if he was out of danger but couldn't speak out because she feared the doctor's words would break her heart.
The doctor nodded. "Miss, young master is safe now, don't worry, this is Doctor Theo; he is Noah's doctor right now." Nina nodded at the doctor's words but said nothing to him.
The doctor slowly explained the situation to her; Nina sighed in relief.
"Then, can we take Noah home right now?"
She hoped they could escape from the hospital as soon as possible because the hospital was like a corpse-keeping place for her; this place gives people life but takes souls away from people. She even hated the scent of the hospital.
“No.” Theo was the first one to reply they could take the boy home since he already gave the medicine and kept the record of Noah; if something like this happens again, only that antidote can save him, but he still needs the boy’s DNA, and if the result is something he expected, he needs to hold them until then.
“Why?” Nina asked, afraid something was going to happen to Noah once again.
“Because Dr. Theo needed to do some tests to confirm Noah's sudden relapse.”
President Grayson calmly explained he knew nothing was wrong with the boy anymore, but as far as he knew about these symptoms, he knew this would be troublesome for the boy like someone he knew.
Seeing the expression on his son’s face, he knew his son was thinking the same, but he had never thought his son would think about doing a DNA test between them.
“It’s okay, Miss; you don't have to worry about young master Noah; he will be okay as long as he takes medicine prescribed by Dr. Theo; if something like this happens, don’t forget to contact us immediately.”
President Grayson wanted to assure Nina about Noah’s health.
Nina finally sighed in relief but still could feel the strange look Dr. Theo gave her as if he were trying to see her face through that mask. When Theo noticed Nina’s eyes on him, he finally couldn’t help but ask,
“Miss, are you from S country?” Theo just wanted to be sure.
Because his mind was not at peace anymore, he just wanted to be sure; if his thinking turned out to be accurate, then a storm was waiting for them in their life, and the boy would be in danger, just thinking that his body would turn cold.
Nina cringed when she heard S country. Does this doctor know about her identity?
“Dr. Theo, I don’t know what you are talking about. Also, I’m sure It’s my right to keep our identity a secret.”
Nina didn’t want to sound rude, but this man’s state of mind gave her a creepy feeling.
Theo smiled. “It’s okay; I just thought you looked familiar, that’s all.” Theo passed the subject because she was uncomfortable sharing her identity or information.
“Brother, am I not a good mother? I think I have my karma; I didn’t want him; is that why God threw me in that situation to prove me guilty, right?” Nina's simple words broke David’s heart that day.
“What the hell are you talking about? What karma, Nina? You are the best mother and girl I have ever seen in my entire life. If another girl were in your place,
they might not keep him, knowing he will always keep reminding you what happened to you, yet he became your life. Do you think it’s not enough?”
David patiently reminded her he never bought the past in front of her, fearing she might break down, yet he wanted her to realize how strong she was for her son, god Noah, a life, yet Nina treasured his life more than hers.
“But brother…” Nina wanted to say something when David stopped her.
“You’re the best mother in this world, just think little, but dear, I think you should come back; we’re waiting for your return, dear” This was David’s reply; he knew even though she sounded strong, this incident broke her from inside.
Nina was slightly reluctant, but her brother’s words convinced her.
“We are Noah’s family. If something like this happens again, we might now be there for you, so why not return to your family, where we all will raise Noah together? Believe in you, brother, right now. Noah needs his family, just like you need him.”
David would never twist his words; he just stated the fact directly.
Before that day, Nina never considered returning, but just like David said, Noah needs his family just like she needs him.
She said, “Okay, brother, after the final, I will return.”
Three days later,
Theo threw the file on the desk and sat on the chair behind him; the person in front of him looked at him with a cold expression as if almost strangling Theo. “Did you leave your manners in your hell?”
It was none other than Ace Welsh; he was busy when Theo appeared out of nowhere; when he refused to see Theo, the man just burst into his office and threw an unknown file in front of him, which made his eyes darken severely.
If it were another time, Theo would have already fled from the spot, but this time Theo was a little afraid; instead, he was excited and thrilled knowing what would happen.
“Shouldn’t you open the file and see what content is inside the file?” Theo looked at Ace with great amazement as if waiting for Ace's reaction after seeing it.
Ace stared at him momentarily and picked up the file; he knew if it were unnecessary, Theo would never disturb him, knowing he would skin Theo alive if he dared to joke around when he was busy.
