CEO Proposed to His Ex-wife 99 Times novel Chapter 309

Katherine got out of the swing, stared at Marshall and asked, "Where is Kyle? He has just been here."

Plainly, Marshall answered, "He just headed to the toilet. He told me to wait here."

Katherine had no idea when did Kyle leave, since he had slipped away without making any noticeable sounds.

From her countenance, Marshall could tell that Katherine was confused.

He smiled, "Well, I told him to slip away quietly, since it might disturb you."

Katherine fixed her eyes on Marshall, with her face pulled.

She once again recalled what he had done to her last night.

Looking at Katherine's sullen face, Marshall clearly understood what she was thinking about.

He smiled in a calm and collective way, walked towards Katherine, raised his hand and tapped on his lips.

'How dare you, you shameless bastard!' With her teeth gritted, Katherine cursed inside of her heart.

Katherine shifted her eyes away after glaring at Marshall for a few seconds.

At the next moment, Clara walked towards her, as if she had already forgotten about things that had previously happened in the clothing shop, as well as the unpleasant phone chat with Marshall.

With a quite genuine smiling face, she said, "I've just come out from the hall, and then I met you guys here. What a coincidence!"

Katherine chuckled, "Oh, it's a coincidence that we meet here, isn't it? I don't think so, sadly."

Her tone was somehow aggressive that others might think she wanted to pick a quarrel. Luckily, Clara didn't seem to mind, and continued with smile, "How long have you guys been here? I just got here, and felt almost choked by the crowds around me. Oh, it's always an embarrassment to stay with any strangers, isn't it?"

Katherine looked at Clara's skirt, which was purely white and in accordance with her elegant temperament.

Meanwhile, looking back at herself, she just looked exceptionally ordinary, and had nothing to do with any graceful temperament.

But, indeed, she was only ordinary anyway.

Since she was born, she was destined to be an ordinary, and lead a mundane life until her death.

Suddenly, Marshall stood beside Katherine and said, "We just got here either."

Saying so, he saw Kyle coming back from not far away.

Kyle was not seemingly happy to see Clara here.

In fact, he was disdainful to even talk to the two ladies from Hendersons'.

What's more, as Kyle was a man who would never hide his true feelings inside, Kyle would never disguise his disguise for someone.

He came, stood by the side of Katherine and turned to Clara, "Why you're here?"

He said so in an even more aggressive tone than Katherine did.

Forced out an amiable smile, Clara answered, "I came along with my father."

Kyle gazed at her up and down, and then said, "Nice skirt, it suits you very well! See, you don't have to steal things from others, since sooner or later, what suits you best will come to you itself!"

Though he didn't mean to give any offense, Kyle was not seemingly conscious of the inappropriateness of what he said, which had really embarrassed Katherine and Clara.

Katherine, with a spurious smile, said, "let's get inside. It's getting a little awkward for us to stay here."

Clara's intention was quite overt — she wanted to attract the attention of the people around her.

However, she had picked a wrong place. The banquet hall would be a better choice, since crowds of people were gathering around there.

Indeed, as the four stepped inside the banquet hall, they soon became the center of attention.

It was quite an intriguing scene seeing these four people walk together: one was Marshall, followed by his ex and his little girlfriend at the same time, and the other was Kyle, a flippant bohemian young man from Haverford Family.

In threes and fours, people stood around and looked sidelong at the four, as if they were expecting something to happen.

Katherine could not help offering a sneering smile, wondering what these people were actually expecting to see.

If they were waiting to see a fight, they would most likely be disappointed then, since both she and Clara were concerned about face-saving, and thus would never fight with each other in public places.

However, honestly, she didn't like the way Clara smiled to veil the actual sulk within her.

She actually liked the kind of Kyle, who would simply pull a face without any hesitation when he was upset, and hide none of his true feelings. Therefore, associating with him could truly give her a sense of security.

In contrast to Kyle, Clara, who was a genius for plotting against others, knew how to disguise her real affections and opinions very well.

Even Mrs. Grant would be pretty much considered as compatible compared to Clara.

Thinking that, Katherine could not help but turn to Marshall and ask, "Hey, I want to ask you something."

Without giving any immediate answer, Marshall showed a gesture "please" by reaching out his hands towards the rest area set aside, where Clara and Kyle then naturally moved to.

Marshall stood on the same spot, and said, "Now, what's your question?"
