Nina did not want to argue, so she remained silent.
Pharaoh was about to continue persuading her when Nash returned from his phone call, noticing the tension between them.
He glanced at Nina, then at Pharaoh. "Father, what were you two talking about? Did something happen?"
Pharaoh explained his concerns. "I suggested that she come back with me. That way, you can focus on your work without worrying."
Nash smiled slightly, understanding his father-in-law's good intentions. "Is that all? There's no need to go to such lengths. I’ve already handed over the company matters to Quincy."
Nina, feeling a bit guilty, asked, "Won’t that be too much for him? He hasn’t taken a day off in years."
Nash chuckled, "He’s going on a business trip anyway. He’ll be with his new assistant, so the workload won’t be too heavy. It’ll give him a chance to relax."
Nash wasn’t lying about the workload, but it was still no easy task. At that moment, Quincy was sitting at the airport with furrowed brows. His laptop was open in front of him. He was in the middle of a meeting.
The branch manager, Nate Falconer, on the other end of the call had failed to grasp Quincy's instructions, leading to a string of apologies.
Frustrated, Quincy snapped his laptop shut. "I can’t believe he was put in charge over there when he can’t understand something so simple."
"Maybe you overcomplicated things," Lydia suggested as she pulled out her phone. "Want me to send him a private message?"
"If he didn’t get it from me, why would he get it from you?" Quincy retorted with an eye roll.
Just then, the boarding announcement played, and Quincy was the first to head toward the gate. Lydia followed, typing a concise message to the branch manager as she walked.
She trailed off, glancing nervously at Quincy. With a huff, Quincy sent Nate to verify the situation.
Nate quickly confirmed that the receptionist was right. Not only were the hotels full, but even motels had no vacancies.
Reluctantly, Quincy accepted the situation, though he wasn’t pleased. The suite had two bedrooms, but only one bathroom, which wasn’t ideal.
Just as he was about to vent his frustration, Nash called. For now, Quincy had to let it go.
"Mr. York, we’ve just arrived at the hotel," Quincy answered respectfully. "I’ve got the documents with me. I’ll send them over shortly."
"No need for that. I trust you to handle it. The issue isn't huge, but it's not insignificant either. My only requirement is that the employees at the branch don't end up working for nothing."
