CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1289

“Mom, I want to go to the hospital with you!” Orion shouted as he ran after Nina.

Hope instinctively tried to grab him, but Orion was running too fast, and her hand grasped at nothing but air.

At the door, Nina paused and turned around. “Orion, your dad and I are really busy right now, and we can’t keep an eye on you. Please stay home. Mrs. Watson is here to take care of you. That’ll make us feel a bit more at ease.”

Orion was a well-behaved child. Even if he came to the hospital, he wouldn’t cause any trouble and might even help take care of Gemma.

But the hospital was crowded and chaotic, and she and Nash would be incredibly busy. What if Orion ran into trouble? It was safer to leave him at home.

“Alright, Mom. But as soon as Gemma’s fever breaks, please tell me right away,” Orion said, reluctantly stopping as he realized the situation. He waved at his mom, hoping his sister would get well soon.

Hearing the door close, Hope approached with her doll, her face lighting up. “Hey, Orion. Let’s play house together. I’ll be the big sister, and you can be the brother.”

“I’m sorry, Hope. I’m really not in the mood right now. I can’t play with you,” Orion shook his head.

It wasn’t a doll that was sick, it was his real sister. How could he possibly play pretend right now, when his sister needed him so much?

He couldn’t bring himself to focus on anything else, not while Gemma was in the hospital fighting a high fever. Playing pretend just felt wrong to him at that moment.

Hope bit her lip tightly and grabbed Orion's arm, asking him softly, "Do you really love your sister a lot?"

"Of course, I love her so much. She’s the most important person to me in this world, besides Mom and Dad," Orion replied without a moment's hesitation.

He took care of his sister partly to help their parents but mostly because he genuinely adored her.

Hope didn’t say anything in response; she just silently looked down.
