CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1320

“What’s there to feel shortchanged about?” Lydia chuckled lightly.

Sure, she had seen Quincy just now, but a brief encounter wasn’t going to throw her off balance. She was learning to let go. Life was too long to spend it mourning over one person forever.

“I had wanted to take you to a nice restaurant, but you were hungry, so we just grabbed a bite here at the mall. Lydia, back when you were with your family, you were used to the best. Now, look at this,” Eugene continued, trying to make his point. He was implying that Quincy had let her down.

Quincy’s family didn’t have much to begin with. Over the years, he had managed to save up a decent amount, but with the expenses of buying a house and covering the costs of the wedding, along with running his own business, he was probably stretched pretty thin.

The Fay family, on the other hand, had a long-established business with steady cash flow and regular dividends. They had countless assets, and even just the rental income from their properties would be more than enough to live on comfortably.

Lydia understood what Eugene was hinting at, but she didn’t feel like she had been slighted in the least. “The fish here is fresh, and lots of people like this place. I enjoy trying new things, even street food now and then.”

Especially during the toughest times for her and Quincy. They were always so busy and didn’t have much money to spare. They often got off work late, and by the time they got home, it was too late to cook. So, they would just grab something to eat on their way back.

Looking back, those were really simple and pleasant days. Lydia didn’t regret a single moment of it, and she didn’t feel like she had anything to complain about.

“Street food?” Eugene’s eyes turned misty. “If you married me, I’d make sure you’d never have to settle. I’d make you the Mrs. Ford everyone envies.”
