CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1382

The elderly lady's expression turned serious. “Oh, dear, it looks like you've been out here for quite a while, and she still won’t see you? Young man, I’ve lived a long time, and I’ve got some advice if you’re willing to hear it.”

Quincy assumed she was going to advise him to give up. If he were in someone else’s shoes, he might say the same thing. But only those in love knew that true feelings would not just vanish like dust in the wind.

To his surprise, the elderly woman took a different approach. “When I was young, I went after my husband even though he didn’t like me at first. And his family? They thought I was just a country girl, plain and uncultured. But so what? I knew what I wanted. I was set on him, so I kept at it until I won him over.”

She chuckled, her eyes twinkling with pride.

Quincy instinctively asked, “And after you got together, did his family still treat you the same way?”

“Of course not. Parents just want their kids to find a good partner. They’re not trying to cause trouble,” the elderly lady replied. “Once we were married, they treated me like their own daughter. They even let me manage the family finances. And even if his family had made things hard, it wouldn’t have scared me. What, they think I wouldn’t outlive them?”

She straightened with a hint of pride in her voice. “Not to brag, but with my constitution, I’ll easily make it to ninety-nine!”

Quincy felt a spark of hope stir inside him. He knew that Lydia’s parents were good-hearted people. If he could prove himself, they would likely support her happiness, unlike his own mother, who had consistently opposed their relationship. And if his mother still objected, he could simply keep up appearances for her sake.

“Thank you for sharing all this with me,” Quincy said sincerely.

She found a quiet bench to sit on. Suddenly, a college student approached her, looking nervous but hopeful. “Miss, would you be interested in learning about our travel agency? We offer short and long trips, all at really good prices.”

“A travel agency?” Lydia’s interest sparked.

Taking the brochure, Lydia thought a trip might be just what she needed. It was a chance to clear her mind and take in some new scenery instead of staying cooped up at home.

Seeing her interest, the student eagerly explained the options, and Lydia waited patiently until she was done. “I’d like to join a tour,” she said. “Do you have any trips departing soon?”
