CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1472

But the reality was clear. Refusing wouldn’t change anything.

“Instead of serving different men, you might as well just serve me,” Ben taunted. “I’ll pay you more than anyone else would. How about $10,000 a month? And if you please me, I’ll throw in bonuses.”

His words were like needles, stabbing deeper into wounds that had already been torn open. Yet Ben showed no mercy. "Or do you think that since you borrowed this money from your sister, you can act like a shameless dog without consequence?”

“No,” Jamie said firmly, “I’ll repay every penny. But if you want me as your mistress, I have one condition.”

“Let’s hear it,” Ben replied, curious.

Jamie took a deep breath. "I’ll be your mistress for three months. In those three months, you can do whatever you want, but once they’re over, you let me go. Let me and my sister live in peace, and we never cross paths again. Can you agree to that?”

This way, Mrs. Lucas would be satisfied, and Winnie wouldn’t suffer further. And as for Ben, three months of venting his anger should be enough for him to finally let her go. It was a win-win, or so she thought.

But Ben’s eyes turned cold. "You really think you can waltz out of this in three months? You’re dreaming.”

He had endured four years of pain. How could three months possibly make up for that?

But then, the image of her son lying in a hospital bed came to mind. The $10,000 she had left would only cover the basics. She would still need much more for his surgery.

She could live without her dignity, but she couldn’t live without her son. She couldn’t abandon her son’s life.

Thinking of Charlie’s sweet little face, Jamie lowered herself, bending down. One by one, she picked up the bills. Each piece of money she gathered was another piece of her pride, shattered and left behind.

Ben watched with his unreadable expression. “I once thought you wanted love,” he sneered. “But I was wrong. What you really want is money. Luckily for you, that’s one thing I have plenty of. Just remember that how much you get depends on how well you perform.”
