CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 1519

Winnie’s face twisted into a mocking smile as she glanced back at Charlie, her expression dark and unnerving.

“What if the one who hurt me is your mom?”

Charlie froze, his innocent eyes wide with disbelief, but he still whispered, “Mom wouldn’t hurt you, Aunt Winnie.”

Winnie let out a cold, bitter laugh.

Why should her sister’s child thrive while her own never even had the chance to see this world?

Why should she endure such loss while Jamie got to keep everything?

“I want to see my mom,” Charlie whimpered, his small voice trembling with unease.

Winnie forced herself to soften, her tone placating. “I was just joking. When we get to where we’re going, I’ll let you call your mom, okay?”

Charlie’s worry eased as he turned his attention back to the scenery outside the car window, humming happily to himself.

Meanwhile, Jamie had been calling all morning, her worry mounting with each unanswered ring. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something was deeply wrong.

Winnie was stubborn, always keeping things to herself, but Jamie knew she had to explain what had happened the night before.

To her surprise, the call finally connected.

“Winnie, about last night, it’s not what you think,” Jamie blurted, desperation lacing her voice.

Winnie’s voice came back, shaky but filled with anger. “You’re still lying to me? Everything about you and him has been a lie. You think I’ll believe you now?”

Jamie’s throat tightened, unable to form a defense.

“I’ll take Charlie and leave,” she said quietly, forcing the words out.

“You’ve already turned my life upside down!” Winnie spat, her voice seething with venom. “And now you want to leave? Jamie, I wish you’d never come back.”

Charlie was a thoughtful and considerate child, well aware of everything Jamie had endured over the years. Despite his young age, he tried his best to comfort and support her in his own way.

But as Jamie thought about how she had failed to provide him with a stable life and how she had not only fallen short in giving him happiness but had also exposed him to danger, her heart filled with sorrow.

As this moment of bittersweet reflection played out, Winnie suddenly snatched the phone from Charlie’s hands. His wide, startled eyes followed her, filled with confusion and disbelief.

“I need to talk to your mom. Go play for a bit,” Winnie said flatly.

Walking onto a quiet balcony, Winnie pressed the phone to her ear. Her voice dripped with mockery. “You’re good at playing the perfect mother, aren’t you?”

Knowing Charlie was no longer near the phone, Jamie clenched her fists tightly, her knuckles turning pale.

Her voice was sharp with tension. “What exactly do you want?”

Winnie narrowed her eyes and said, “I need you to do something for me.”
