CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery novel Chapter 366

"Penelope…"

"I've been through so much to get where I am today. Even if no one watches the dramas I'm in and my popularity declines, it's my own problem. The entertainment industry is vast. Does everyone who's better than me have to be seen as a threat?"

"That's not true. It's because Miranda relies on her patron..."

"Let's not speak ill of others. I don't want to hear that kind of talk. You know me well. I've made plenty of mistakes in the past, so now I need to cherish myself more and protect my reputation."

Penelope cherished her future immensely. What she despised the most was using jealousy of others' achievements to elevate oneself.

She and Miranda were fundamentally different. She had climbed up from the bottom and understood the hardships within. Miranda, on the other hand, was born with a silver spoon, born into unfairness.

Without that privilege, Penelope relied on her own efforts to strive for what she wanted. She believed that one day she would reach the peak.

The atmosphere in the car was tense the whole way. Nash remained silent, staring out the window with a cold expression, not uttering a word. Miranda dared not disturb him, sitting nervously, her heart pounding.

When they arrived at the company, Nash quickly exited the car and headed inside. He walked briskly, while Miranda struggled to keep up in her high heels, which were thin and sharp.

"Nash, ah," Miranda jogged after him, but accidentally twisted her ankle.

Nash halted, turning to look at Miranda.

She looked aggrieved, clutching her leg, tears welling up in her eyes. "I twisted my ankle," she whimpered.

Nash stood there without a word, his gaze icy as he spoke, "Do you realize what you said in front of the reporters today?"
