Wilfred did not hide anything, revealing it all plainly.
Miranda was shocked. "Why would you do this? Do you realize how much this affects me? I asked you to take care of Nina, thinking her death could save us. But instead, you pushed me into the fire. Why did you do this?"
The bread in Wilfred's hand had been eaten by the pigeons. He brushed the crumbs off his coat. "There was no transaction between us. You didn't pay me, and I didn't ask for your money. Nina paid me for your information. Out of respect for the money, I couldn't refuse."
"Wilfred!" Miranda growled. "This is not a joke! We’re supposed to be in this together!"
Wilfred's slight smile faded, and he replied calmly, "I know exactly what I'm doing. As compensation, I'll restore your hearing."
"I don't understand you anymore," Miranda said, almost laughing at the absurdity. "I thought we were the same. I believed you'd always help me, but then you sold me out to Nina. Who are you? Unless there's something between you and Nina that I don’t know about!"
Wilfred said, "Some things are better left unknown. Curiosity killed the cat."
He paused and then added, "If you can't solve the problems you're facing, you're not Miranda. I do whatever I want, purely for my own amusement."
Miranda sensed something was off with Wilfred. His actions made no sense to her.
"You'll end up destroying yourself!" she warned.
Wilfred chuckled. "Do you think you'll live longer than me?"
A chill ran down Miranda's spine. "I want to live, and live freely."
With his hands in his coat pockets, towering over her, Wilfred said, "Life’s duration is one thing. How you live it is another. We each have our own paths. I won't hinder yours, and you shouldn't hinder mine. I've done everything you asked me to help with!"
Miranda calmed down. Yelling would not change what had happened. She glanced at his hands. "You're not wearing your beads today? You always used to."
"I was feeding pigeons and didn't want them to get dirty."
In that moment, Miranda realized how little she truly knew about Wilfred, despite their long association and collaboration. She furrowed her brows and said seriously, "She will never be your Ivy. Stop deluding yourself."
Wilfred just smiled without responding.

Can you add more chapters per day please...
Don't tell me 🤯 Is Nina pharaoh's daughter?...
Meanwhile why is Nina playing hard to get? What else does she want from the man? I bet if Nash ever declares to kove the baby unconditionally she might soften up but lady just spill the secret he would be overjoyed!...
I see you increased the number of chapters per day by 2, but please can we have like 20 chapters per day? 7 chapters is too little, the suspense is just crazy...
Man forget Nina. Bring Nash to me. I'll be more than willing to be with such a handsome and rich++ husband. 😘😘...
Oh god. EVERYTIME every freaking time Nash and Nina are on the edge to reconcile there's a third party. And Miranda!! Oh my God. I think the story is useless now. How come there's so much villain in their life. Gosh?!...
