Nina took the heavy bag from the young man’s hands. "If you won’t tell me, then don’t help. I’m not used to accepting help from strangers."
"Take it easy!" the young man was worried that she might fall from exerting too much strength and tried to caution her.
Nina placed the bag in the bicycle basket and prepared to leave. She rode slowly, aware that the young man was still following her.
Nina glanced at him, her patience wearing thin. She got off the bicycle and raised her voice, "Why are you following me? Either stop following me or tell your boss to come out, or I’ll call the police!"
Seeing her fierce demeanor, the young man hesitated. He received some instructions through his earpiece and decided to leave.
Once he was gone, Nina continued her ride but could not shake the feeling of being watched. She wondered if someone had been keeping an eye on her the entire time she had been staying at home.
Determined to find out, she pretended to lose control of her bicycle, wobbling dangerously. "Ah..."
She almost fell but was caught by a strong hand. Turning around, she saw a cold, familiar face.
Her expression hardened as she pulled away. "It’s you!"
Nash’s eyes were distant, maintaining some distance between them. "What do you mean by 'it's me'?"
Nina stared at him and asked in a sharp tone. "You’ve been having people follow me, haven’t you?"
Nina had endured a lot of mistreatment from Nash recently. Even though she had already vented her frustration at him, the resentment still lingered.
Seeing him only made her angrier, ruining her day. She stopped again and turned to face his car. Nash, reading the situation, rolled down the window.
Nina's tone was far from pleasant. "Mr. York, why are you tailing me? Didn't we agree we're not going the same way? You're still tailing me. Do you want to follow me home? We're already divorced, that house is mine now. I've done everything you asked. What more do you want from me? Are you here to mock me?"
Nash's face remained impassive and his eyes were fixed on her. "This road doesn't have a sign that says only you can use it. Can't I drive on it too?"
"Are you driving on this road or stalking me?" Nina demanded.
