Chasing After My Beloved Wife novel Chapter 6

For three days, Joye visited all the banks that she had previously cooperated with, but was told that they could do nothing about it. It didn’t take long before she found out who was behind the whole thing.

As soon as the three-day deadline passed, she received a message from the shareholders.

"What should we do now? Just now, their secretary has issued a temporary notice to all the shareholders as the second-largest shareholder."

The assistant asked and looked at her worriedly. It seemed like Miss. Leonard and Mr. Richard were in a huge argument this time.

"What time is it?" Joye asked.

"Three o'clock."

Looking at the time on her wristwatch, Joye took a deep breath. She had another hour left.

At three o'clock, all the major shareholders arrived on time and gathered in the conference room. Joye sat up straight in her seat and glanced at the empty seat next to her with a slightly annoyed look.

The sound of leather shoes rang from the corridor outside, and everyone turned to look at the door. She was no exception.

The only difference was that there was no expectation in her eyes but annoyance.

She didn't know what kind of expression he would have on his face when he showed up in front of her.

"Sorry to keep you all waiting."

Shawn walked in the door. His tall figure was accentuated out by the suit he wore, enchanting everyone with his elegance.

After taking a look, Joye was about to look away, but her eyes were attracted by the hickey on his neck. Her heart boiled with anger once more because she knew she did not leave that mark.

"Are you surprised, darling?"

Joye clenched her fists, losing her mind.

She stood up and her eyes burned with the desire to kill the man who was smiling proudly beside her. Her gaze made the atmosphere even tenser.

"Miss. Leonard, you have a phone call."

Only after the assistant reminded her did Joye regain her senses. She looked away and picked up the phone.

"Hello, is this Miss Joye speaking?"

"Yes, it is. To whom am I speaking to?" She took a breath and her voice had returned to normal. She couldn't make a fool out of herself anymore that day.

"I am from the embassy. I'm sorry to inform you of this bad news. Your family boarded the plane back to China from France at six o'clock this morning. Unfortunately, an accident happened half an hour later. We haven't found any signs of survival yet. Our condolences."
