“Just answer me this: aside from terminating the pregnancy, is there any other way to protect both mother and child? Quick, tell me!” Sebastian yelled.
The doctor said after a moment’s thought, “There is one way—intrauterine blood transfusion! Insert a tube into the fetus’s umbilical cord or placenta to directly provide blood for the fetus and physically control the loss of blood in the womb. This is an emergency measure to preserve the fetus’s life, and is usually only taken when the fetus’s life is under severe threat. Although this method can increase the fetus’s survival rate, given Mrs. Carter’s condition right now, failure would result in the baby’s death by fetal hypoxia. Mrs. Carter’s life may be at risk, too!”
Sydney immediately asked, “In other words, Rose will be fine if we terminate the pregnancy, but the baby will be gone. If we forcefully try to keep the baby, failure would mean that both mother and child will die. Is that right?”
The doctor nodded. “Yes. That’s why our suggestion would be to terminate the pregnancy and prioritize the safety of the mother.”
Although the doctor mentioned prioritizing the mother’s safety, Rosalie told all the doctors before the surgery to keep the baby no matter what happens.
Now that Rosalie was unconscious and without the ability to make a decision, they needed Sebastian to make the decision just to be on the safe side.
“Sebastian!” Sydney grabbed his arm, her nails sinking in his flesh. “Why are you spacing out? Save Rosalie! Do you even need to think about it? Quick, say something!”
Sydney was infuriated. If she could make the decision, she would immediately have the doctor terminate the pregnancy.
Yet now, Sebastian was the only one who could make the decision. They were legally married.
Although Rosalie was carrying her biological grandchild, Rosalie’s life was of utmost priority. They could let the mother and child both die just for the chance of keeping the baby!
Sydney was distraught.
Rosalie’s words rang in Sebastian’s mind.
“I’ll live if the baby lives. If I wake up and find the baby gone, I’ll take my life.”
Sebastian shut his eyes in pain.
“Mr. Carter, you have to make a decision right now. We’re running out of time and Mrs. Carter cannot afford to wait!” the doctor urged him anxiously.
“We’ll do the intrauterine blood transfusion!”

The readers' comments on the novel: Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)
Unrealistic. What a comedy. If Sebastian and Rosalie are cousins, their families must have already prevented them to be together abroad. Isn't it bizarre that nobody is doing something to let them know of their family relationship? And pls stop putting Aurora in a high pedestal. Your readers want Rosalie to be genuinely happy, free of stupid misunderstanding. Thank you....
Another garbled story with lots of gibberish. Absolute rubbish. I got to chapter 26 and can't anymore...
Too many people involve.. sigh~ this is like the most angst novel i've read.....
I just wish one thing...that the writer will not bring too many unnecessary and unrealistic twists, too many misunderstanding, miscommunication that gives the reader the hint not to continue with the novel. In the long run, We lost our interest in this kind of unending plot....
Thanks for the update !...
