Rosalie choked up as well. Tears welled up in her eyes; though she stubbornly held them back, unwilling to be vulnerable in front of him.
When she first married Sebastian, their union hadn't been genuine, but things had spiraled one step at a time. Now, it was completely out of control and impossibly tangled.
Theodore suddenly reached out weakly, attempting to touch Rosalie's shoulder.
"Don't touch me!" She slapped his hand away and gave him another hard slap.
Theodore's already swollen face became even more so. For some reason, Rosalie felt even angrier seeing him like this. Watching him take her hits without a word and without fighting brought her no sense of satisfaction. He wasn't even dodging. It only made her feel angrier and more hurt.
"Theodore, what's this supposed to mean?" Rosalie clenched her fists, pounding against his chest. "Why aren't you fighting back? I hate you! Why do you have to do this? Why can't you just stay away from me? Why?"
"Enough!" Finally, Aurora couldn't hold back and rushed over, grabbing Rosalie and shoving her down to the ground.
Then, Aurora shielded Theodore protectively, as if guarding a child. "Stop hitting him, please. I beg you to stop."
"Rose." Without hesitation, Theodore pushed Aurora aside and hurried to Rosalie's side, helping her up. "Rose, are you alright?"
"Don't touch me!" Rosalie shook his hand off.
Aurora was stunned when Theodore threw himself at Rosalie without a second thought, and she couldn't move a muscle. How did things come to this?
Aurora clutched her chest and collapsed to the ground with a thud, struggling to breathe.
"Aurora!" Theodore immediately let go of Rosalie and rushed to Aurora's side, holding her in his arms. "Aurora, what's wrong?"
Aurora clutched her chest, gasping for air as her face gradually turned pale. "Theo, I... I feel terrible, Theo…"
"I'll take you to a doctor." Theodore scooped Aurora up in his arms. Before leaving, he glanced back at Rosalie, who still lay on the ground.
Comments
The readers' comments on the novel: Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)
Unrealistic. What a comedy. If Sebastian and Rosalie are cousins, their families must have already prevented them to be together abroad. Isn't it bizarre that nobody is doing something to let them know of their family relationship? And pls stop putting Aurora in a high pedestal. Your readers want Rosalie to be genuinely happy, free of stupid misunderstanding. Thank you....
Another garbled story with lots of gibberish. Absolute rubbish. I got to chapter 26 and can't anymore...
Too many people involve.. sigh~ this is like the most angst novel i've read.....
I just wish one thing...that the writer will not bring too many unnecessary and unrealistic twists, too many misunderstanding, miscommunication that gives the reader the hint not to continue with the novel. In the long run, We lost our interest in this kind of unending plot....
Thanks for the update !...
